Because I have no qualms about hammering the Left for anti-white comments or tackling racial issues that come that up in the news, white nationalists do come across my work. Inevitably, they end up deeply disappointed and one of them recently wrote me about it. Here’s a compilation of a couple of emails he recently sent me….
Subject: You’re like a communist.
John:
In your “Liberal Hate for White People,” you wish that everyone would be colorblind and follow MLK’s content of character dictum. But the fact is that most people, especially most non-white people, are inherently tribal. Most of them want people that look like them to win and rule. They care much less about maximizing their economic opportunities and lowering taxes.
When you wish that people could be colorblind, you are like a communist who wishes that a person would work as hard for a collective as he would work for his family. Just like it is contrary to human nature to expect communism to work, it is contrary to human nature to expect colorblindness, especially from non-whites.
You are like a person who opposes gravity for ethical reasons. Stop doing that. Accept tribalism and act accordingly.
All those based black conservatives and natural conservative Hispanics exist only in very small numbers and are not going to save our country. Race is real. Face up to it.
How long till Candice Owens goes Omarosa? Owens is just a parrot cashing a check.

I’ll answer that question: Whites have, by far, the highest ability to create civilizations in which other races want to live. There’s a lot to unpack there and unlike the giant corporations that have taken to censoring people instead of addressing what they have to say, I think the best way to fight bad speech is with good speech. People with good arguments should be willing to make them. So, as to the emails….
First off, are most people inherently tribal? Absolutely. Our natural tendency as humans is to split ourselves off in different ways. However, the tribes we sort ourselves into are often not based on race (at one time, the Irish and Italians could have told you all about that) and it’s exactly this impulse that we had to overcome to build a successful republic. An America where every group is primarily loyal to its own country of origin or race is an America without a bright future.
Additionally, one of the things I’ve always wondered about is how an all-white America is even supposed to work at this point. It’s like the South Park Underwear Gnomes….
Step 1: White Americans all become one tribe who put each other first.
Step 2: ???????????????????
Step 3: America is dominated by white Americans and life is good!
What is step 2? I can take a guess. For the example, the nom de plume the white nationalist took on is William Luther (Pierce). William Pierce wrote what many people refer to as the neo-Nazi Bible, The Turner Diaries. Supposedly, that’s the book that inspired Timothy McVeigh to act and I have read and reviewed it.
Long story short, in the book liberals attempt to confiscate weapons all across the country which leads to a civil war. So, you end up with fascistic liberals on one side and what are supposed to be white nationalist “good guys” on the other. In the course of the book, the white nationalists deliberately provoke a nuclear war with the Soviet Union and then go on a Hitleresque liquidation spree: “The Jews, everyone of mixed race, whites who lived with or dated non-whites in California, and politicians, preachers, TV personalities, and government officials who couldn’t be controlled? They’re liquidated, shot, and hung from lamp posts as all of California falls under martial law.”
The book ends with a war-torn impoverished nation controlled by iron-fisted socialistic despots. This is not an appealing vision of the future — doubly so for me because I would almost certainly end up swinging from a lamppost or shot dead and dumped in a ditch somewhere if it ever happened.
Setting that aside, how would you ever get white Americans to go along with this kind of mass extermination — or, let’s say alternately, a more humane forced migration? I’m 47 years old and I grew up in the Deep South. Contrary to what liberals will tell you, I ran across almost no racists growing up and the ones I did see were old and set in their ways. I grew up idolizing Muhammad Ali and listening to rap music. I’ve dated Asian girls and I’ve spent hours talking to black, Jewish, and Hispanic friends. One of my inspirations for doing what I do is Thomas Sowell. You may be thinking, “Good for you, but so what?”
Well, the point is that I am a 47-year-old, straight, white conservative man from the Deep South who resents the anti-white rhetoric of the Left, doesn’t like #Blacklivesmatter, and loathes race-baiting clowns like Shawn King, Al Sharpton and Ta-Nehisi Coates. And yet there’s no way I’m ever going to be on board with a white nationalist movement. If white nationalists aren’t even getting people like me on board – and they never will – how are they ever supposed to make their dreams a reality? Maybe way back in the day when there were four million Ku Klux Klan members you could be forgiven for thinking this could happen, but when there are only 8,000 left, what chance do they have?
Now, will Candace Owens turn out to be “another Omarosa”? Well, I don’t know her and I’m deeply suspicious of anyone who goes on Alex Jones’ show or who rises out of nowhere in the conservative movement by becoming a full-on Trump propagandist who’s known for telling his biggest fans exactly what they want to hear. Over the last couple years, there have been a number of people who fall into that category, most of them white, and they’re generally not people I find admirable in any way other than perhaps their knack for self-promotion. Maybe Candace Owens will turn out to be someone else like that or maybe she will be something better. Time will tell. Whether she does or doesn’t won’t change the fact that I think the conservative movement will be better off if we bring a larger percentage of black Americans into the fold, not a smaller one.
As to Jews, not only do I not believe they’re “traitorous” or out to get the “the flyover-state white man,” I have never understood the hatred aimed at them beyond the fact that they tend to be a small segment of society that tends to be extremely successful. Even their stereotypes are pretty good. “Oh, those Jews! They’re really talented, good with money and frugal! Always running their own businesses!” I genuinely scratch my head when people tell me how horrible Jews are supposed to be because I just don’t see it and never have.
Last, but not least, I think “civilizational ability” is something that should be chalked up to culture, not race. The most successful nations have been those that have adopted the tenets of Western civilization. Even the most prosperous Asian nations like Japan and South Korea were heavily influenced by Western culture. Additionally, there are also poor white nations like Armenia, Moldovia, and Ukraine. If Western culture had developed in Africa while Europeans still embraced the sort of backward tyrannies you see in Africa and South America, chances are America would be one of the sh*thole countries and they’d be the prosperous ones today.
I’m not going to crap all over someone who respectfully made an argument that I disagree with in the strongest of terms, but I will say that I don’t agree with white nationalism; I don’t think it’s realistic or well thought-out and I don’t believe pursuing it will bring anything other than misery and frustration into someone’s life. The best thing any white nationalist could do would be to put those beliefs in the rearview mirror and go in a different direction in life, but people are going to do what they’re going to do and I’m not going to be able to change their mind with a column.
