Hollywood Celebs Now Demanding That Biden 'Not Rest' Until Hamas Releases All Hostages

The terrorist attacks in Israel, perpetrated by Hamas, have snapped some of the progressives in Hollywood out of their leftist stupor. Many celebrities have come out to voice support for the Jewish nation and take a stand against pro-Palestinian colleagues. This is a welcome change from the hive-mind mentality that so many entertainers subscribe to these days, and it sort of gives me a sliver of hope that maybe it’s not too late to clean up Hollywood and restore it to its former glory.

The latest sign of awakening in the industry, according to Variety, comes in the form of an open letter that celebrities such as Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, and Sacha Baron Cohen, signed that demands that President Joe Biden “not rest” until the miscreants of Hamas release all of the hostages that they took during their attacks on Israel.

I find the phrase “not rest” in the letter to be rather hilarious. Biden has spent an obscene amount of time on vacation since he took over the presidency, especially in August and September, when he was practically on vacation the entire time. And just this weekend, he paid another visit to his beach house.

I’m not sure if it’s possible for the 80-year-old commander-in-chief to “not rest” at this point. Former President Donald Trump could not be more right on the money than when he referred to Biden as “Sleepy Joe.” It’s the perfect nickname for him.

The letter also features additional signatures from Gwyneth Paltrow, Bradley Cooper, Katy Perry, Judd Apatow, and Justin Timberlake, among several others. That’s quite an array of big-time powers in the entertainment industry. These are folks who are largely responsible for shaping our culture into what it is today, for better or worse (Who am I kidding? It’s definitely worse.), which means it will draw the attention of average Americans, who will hopefully begin to examine the other side of the conflict rather than allowing the New York Times and CNN to make their minds up for them.

“We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan, and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity,” the letter went on to say. “But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death.”

“Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza,” the letter continued.

Wait a second. There’s an error in this note. There has been little support for the Jewish folks in Israel from this president or his administration. Every single time he or someone from the White House has been asked a question or given a statement about what’s happening in the Middle East, they always turn the conversation away from the atrocities experienced by Israel and focus on Muslims and Palestinians, despite the fact they were the attackers in this current situation.

In fact, after visiting the country, Biden held a press conference where he requested a foreign aid package that people were expecting would go to Israel. The vast majority of it is going to Ukraine, then to the people of Gaza, and a little bit left over for Israel. Deplorable.

“We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages,” it added.

“We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home,” the letter concluded.

If we had a competent leader in the White House who was healthy and sane, we would probably see these hostages released already. Let’s hope that, by some miracle, Hamas releases folks and returns them to their families unharmed.
