ISIS Terrorists Now Hiding Behind Women and Children in Raqqa

FILE - This image made from undated video posted during the weekend of June 28, 2014 on a social media account frequently used for communications by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which has been verified and is consistent with other AP reporting, shows Omar al-Shishani standing next to the group's spokesman among a group of fighters as they declare the elimination of the border between Iraq and Syria. An Iraqi official and a Syrian activist say senior Islamic State group leader Al-Shishani died Monday, March 15, 2016 outside Raqqa, Syria. Shishani was injured in a U.S. airstrikes last week and subsequently died from his wounds, the senior Iraqi intelligence official and Rami Abdurrahman, of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told the Associated Press. I thought they were desperate to be blown to smithereens so they could enter heaven as “martyrs” and be rewarded with — what? 72? — virgins!

Why, then, do they need to hide behind women and children now that they’re under attack?

Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists are using civilians as human shields in the group’s de facto Syria capital Raqqa, a Syrian activist said Tuesday, complicating things for a Kurdish-Arab alliance which has launched an offensive in the area.

The Syrian Democratic Forces, a seven-month-old alliance between Kurdish and Arab forces, launched an offensive on Tuesday in areas north of Raqqa.

The operation is potentially one of the most serious ground efforts against ISIS since it declared a self-styled “caliphate” straddling the Syrian-Iraqi border in 2014.

Although the Left loves Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, ISIS learned this strategy from them. The green-dressed terrorists are known for hiding behind women and children. That way they hope Israel won’t bomb them. Or, if they do, Hamas cries foul and says Israel is “slaughtering innocent civilians” — a line quickly picked up by Western progressives who can’t resist an opportunity to blast the only Jewish nation in the world.

Abdel Aziz al-Hamza, a co-founder of the Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently group, explains that ISIS is doing exactly same thing:

They are using the civilians as a cover. So you’ll find them in the same building. In a civilian building, you’ll find two or three apartments for ISIS fighters. They also talk of some schools as places to stay because these schools have basements, something underground, so they are protected from the air strikes. And they are surrounded by civilian buildings.

So the question is, will the Left condemn Arab and Kurdish forces for attacking ISIS even though it may result in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, or do they only get worked up about civilian casualties when Israel is involved?

In either case, I know what I would do if I were leading these groups: attack. It’s horrendous that civilians may be killed, but that’s on ISIS (and in Gaza on Hamas), not the army trying to liberate Raqqa and wipe out a terrorist organization.
