Hillary Reportedly Planning Bill Clinton's Funeral, and I Have Questions

According to RadarOnline, twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has already begun planning an elaborate memorial service for her husband-in-name-only at the Washington National Cathedral, complete with a traditional funeral mass. Bill Clinton, meanwhile, is reportedly doing some planning of his own, including making changes to his $120 million will.

Personally, I suspect Hillary has been planning Clinton's funeral for decades.

Obviously, a state funeral for a former president is fairly standard practice. Washington National Cathedral spokesperson Elizabeth Hargrove said earlier this year that "all current living presidents have plans in the works for a state funeral." So on paper, this is standard operating procedure for anyone who's occupied the Oval Office. The details attached to Clinton's version are where things get interesting.

Presidential historian Leon Wagener told RadarOnline that Clinton may ultimately be buried at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum in Little Rock, Ark. Wagener suggested Clinton has his eye on the library's rooftop garden specifically, rather than the grounds overlooking the Arkansas River. I guess burial at Epstein’s Island has been taken off the table.

"The rooftop garden is his happy place," Wagener said. "I can see him demanding to be buried there, even though they've got plenty of land at the library grounds overlooking the Arkansas River."

Given that the library is, by any honest architectural assessment, an ugly building, I can't say I understand the appeal. But it's apparently where Clinton spends most of his time these days, and Wagener has a theory about why. "He lives there most of the time because, for one thing, he stays away from Hillary," Wagener said. "That's his hideout."

Then there's the matter of the will. Insiders reportedly suspect Clinton has made changes to the $120 million document, and speculation has already turned to whether library interns could be among the beneficiaries.

I’m not kidding.

"I think there might be some real surprises when people find out who's named in the will," Wagener said.

Clinton's health history is long and well documented. He battled sepsis in 2021 after a urinary tract infection spread to his bloodstream, spent nearly a week hospitalized, underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 2004, had a follow-up stent procedure six years later, and was seen traveling last year with what appeared to be a portable defibrillator. He hasn't exactly looked or sounded healthy in years, but you wouldn't either if you were married to Hillary.

Dr. Stuart Fischer, a cardiologist who has not treated Clinton, said the former president could be "at risk for a cardiac rhythm disturbance," particularly if he is under stress. "This is very serious because the arrhythmia can come out of nowhere," Fischer said. "Psychological stress has a very direct effect on the human heart." He added that missing the warning signs leaves almost no margin for error. "If you miss ventricular fibrillation, the window of opportunity where you must hopefully treat it is very small – and the person can die immediately," he said. "It can happen at any second."

If I were Bill, I’d steer clear of Hillary, because the end could come sooner than later. I’m kidding. Okay, not really.
