In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the political left is frantically trying to rewrite reality, pretending that political violence is somehow a uniquely conservative problem. Leftist commentators and Democratic politicians trot out “examples” of right-wing violence as supposed proof—but the truth is, many of the incidents they point to aren’t right-wing at all. In fact, they’re often acts committed by deranged leftists or radicals, or they're opportunistic hoaxes. Let’s take a look at the most common examples the left is using to gaslight the American public—and show the truth behind their narrative.
The most often-cited example of “right-wing” violence the left loves to throw out there is the assassination of Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband earlier this year.
The problem is that when you actually look at the facts, the media’s narrative quickly unravels. Reporters have insisted that Vance Boelter’s anti-abortion views drove his violent spree—but the truth is far stranger and far darker. In a rambling letter, Boelter claimed that Governor Tim Walz personally instructed him to kill Senator Amy Klobuchar to clear a path for Walz to assume her Senate seat. Boelter alleged that he refused and threatened to go public, which supposedly led Walz to “call it off” by orchestrating further violence to eliminate potential witnesses.
Yeah, he was completely nuts.
In reality, Walz’s only connection to Boelter was a routine appointment to a workforce board—nothing more. Boelter’s rambling letter makes it painfully clear that his supposed relationship with the governor existed only in his own deluded mind. This was a violent spree driven entirely by a deranged obsession with Walz—a fact the media ignored as they tried to weaponize the story against pro-Trump Americans.
The next “example” of right-wing violence is the arson attack on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s home during the first night of Passover earlier this year.
Of course, the media was (and still is) eager to blame conservatives because the target was the Democrat governor, but what they conveniently ignore is the suspect's pro-Palestinian motives. In fact, the suspect, Cody Balmer, made his motives painfully clear in a 9-1-1 call, saying he acted because he “couldn’t take part in [Shapiro’s] plans for what he wants to do to the Palestinian people.” Balmer is a self-described socialist and anarchist with a documented history of mental health problems—and he had reportedly stopped taking his medications before carrying out the attack.

And finally, there’s the attack on Paul Pelosi back in 2022. For years now, Democrats and the mainstream media have been claiming that David DePape, the man who attacked Pelosi, was a MAGA activist. In reality, he was a committed leftist. He reportedly lived in a Berkeley nudist collective, a setting steeped in counterculture and progressive activism, and photos of his residence displayed a smorgasbord of leftist imagery. Even DePape’s former lover confirmed that he was a leftist who supported Nancy Pelosi.
Yet, in a move that perfectly illustrates the left’s desperation to blame conservatives for every act of violence, the media, Joe Biden, and Democratic officials repeatedly portrayed DePape as a MAGA Republican. They ignored clear evidence of his left-wing leanings, choosing instead to fit him into a convenient narrative that painted Trump supporters as inherently dangerous. The truth is inconvenient for them: DePape was a leftist radical, motivated by the very ideology that the left claims is peaceful and tolerant. But they kept repeating the lie over and over, and they're still claiming he was a MAGA Republican today.
Now it make sense why they are lying against about Tyler Robinson, the man who killed Charlie Kirk, doesn't it?
The pattern here is unmistakable: when reality doesn’t fit the left’s preferred storyline, they simply rewrite it. Americans can’t afford to let the media turn lies into history. We should call out these distortions, challenge the so-called "fact-checkers," and refuse to let the left gaslight us about where political violence is mostly coming from. If we don’t, the left will keep using tragedy as a tool to silence and delegitimize half the country.
