The Democratic Party Has No Moral Compass

The modern left’s moral compass is not just broken—it’s been thrown out entirely. Time and again, they elevate criminals, predators, and violent radicals, not in spite of their actions, but because those actions can be twisted to serve a political narrative. It doesn’t matter how vile the behavior or how clear the evidence—if someone fits the left’s ideological mold, they’re hailed as a hero or martyr.

Meanwhile, good people who act selflessly or defend others are ruthlessly demonized for daring to challenge that narrative. This isn’t just hypocrisy—it’s moral rot. It’s a worldview so corrupted by politics and identity obsession that it rewards depravity and punishes decency. And the consequences are getting harder to ignore.

While the media dutifully recites the script of Harvey Milk as a sainted gay rights icon, it almost never acknowledges the disturbing truth: he was a pedophile. That fact is swept under the rug in favor of feel-good revisionism. Under Barack Obama, Milk was honored with a postage stamp, awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and even had a Navy ship named after him.

This week we learned that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the U.S. Navy to strip Harvey Milk’s name from a naval vessel—putting an end to the shameful whitewashing of a deeply troubling figure. Naturally, the left is furious—not because the facts are wrong, but because their narrative is being challenged during Pride Month, no less.

ICYMI: Is Trump Secretly Working to Scrap the One Big, Beautiful Bill?

“This spiteful move does not strengthen our national security,” former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement. “It is a surrender of a fundamental American value.”

No, Nancy. What’s shameful is the left’s insistence on celebrating predators when they happen to serve a convenient cause.

But, the sad fact is that this isn’t an isolated case—it’s part of a larger pattern. Time and again, the left champions individuals who have committed serious crimes, so long as they can be portrayed as victims of oppression or resistance. And when the facts don’t fit, they simply ignore them.

Consider illegal immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The left rallied around him, breathlessly dubbing him a “Maryland man” to paint him as an innocent victim of Trump’s immigration policies. But then came the truth: Abrego Garcia isn’t some misunderstood good Samaritan—he’s linked to gang activity, human trafficking, and domestic abuse. You’d think that would prompt a course correction.

Instead, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) jetted off to El Salvador to advocate for Abrego Garcia’s release—then shamelessly posed for the cameras like it was some kind of spring break photo op. Did the revelations about Abrego Garcia’s ties to gang activity, human trafficking, and domestic abuse faze Van Hollen or the other Democrats turning him into a political poster child? Not in the slightest. They didn’t care. What mattered was the narrative—a chance to take a swing at Trump. The truth was just collateral damage.

We’ve seen this play out time and time again. Daniel Penny, a Marine veteran who defended commuters from violent subway threat, was smeared as a racist vigilante by Democrats. Many on the left openly celebrate Luigi Mangione for assassinating a healthcare CEO.

This trend isn’t new, by the way; it goes back decades. In the 1970s, the left rallied behind cop killer Assata Shakur. In the 1980s, another cop killer, Mumia Abu-Jamal, became a hero of the radical left.

What does this tell us? It tells us that Democrats aren’t just on the side of evil, but they have been for a long time. It’s part of who they are. It’s part of their ideology. It’s why they can go all in on butchering young children in the name of gender ideology. It’s why they can praise Black Lives Matters rioters, sip margaritas with human traffickers, and put the names of pedophiles on Navy ships.
