Earlier this month, Joe Biden issued his son, Hunter Biden, a “full and unconditional pardon” for any crimes he may have committed over an 11-year period. While some left-wing commentators praised the move as a touching gesture from a father to his son, the timing and scope of the pardon suggest that it was less about family loyalty and more about self-preservation.
Biden claimed the pardon was necessary to counter what he called politically motivated attacks from Republicans. However, the pardon conveniently covers the years when Hunter Biden was raking in money through his overseas business dealings—money that enriched the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself. This includes the infamous period when Hunter served on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, despite having no relevant experience.
House Republicans, upon taking the majority in 2023, launched an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. They uncovered a mountain of evidence tying the president to Hunter’s business dealings. This evidence includes suspicious financial transactions, payments from foreign entities, and the use of shell companies to funnel money into the Biden family’s accounts.
Despite the damning evidence, Democrats and the media consistently dismissed the allegations, framing the inquiry as retaliation for Donald Trump’s impeachments. Yet the case against Joe Biden is far stronger than anything Democrats could haphazardly cobble together against Trump. Democrats impeached Trump over a phone call with Ukraine’s president, while Republicans are pointing to documented payments, whistleblower testimony, and financial records that prove corruption.

Unfortunately, after Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July, the momentum for an impeachment stalled. The House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Committees did, however, release a report in August finding that Joe Biden did commit impeachable offenses.
“President Biden’s legacy is marked by abuse of public office, corruption, and obstruction. The evidence produced by our impeachment inquiry is the strongest case for impeachment of a sitting president the House of Representatives has ever investigated. Americans now know Joe Biden was ‘the brand’ the Bidens sold around the world to enrich the Biden family, and Joe Biden knew of, benefitted from, and participated in his family’s influence peddling schemes,” House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said at the time. “The entire Biden influence peddling model relied on Joe Biden’s presence—at meetings, on the phone, or at dinners—to demonstrate his family members’ influence over him, and he repeatedly provided it. Throughout our impeachment inquiry of President Biden, the Biden-Harris Administration has sought to obstruct us every step of the way. Despite this obstruction, we have exposed the truth to the American people, and they now know the extent of President Biden’s corruption.”
Since the election, Joe Biden has become virtually irrelevent, yet the sad reality is that he’s avoiding any accountability for his corruption. Why should he? Hunter’s blanket pardon may protect him from legal consequences, but unless Joe Biden pardons himself before leaving office, he isn’t immune from prosecution.
The question is whether anyone in Washington has the will to hold him accountable. Donald Trump has already said he wouldn’t seek retribution for the way Biden weaponized the Justice Department against him. But pursuing justice isn’t about retribution; it’s about upholding the rule of law.
And no one is above the law, right?
If the evidence of Biden family corruption is as strong as it appears, then justice demands action. Anything less would set a dangerous precedent, signaling that those in power are above the law.
