It should come as no surprise to anyone — save for Joe Biden and his team at the White House — that House Democrats have flatly rejected the "Bidenomics" pitch as they attempt to seek reelection next year.
Without a doubt, Joe Biden's insistence on branding the economy "Bidenomics" and attempting to convince the public that the economy is strong or that inflation is going down will likely turn out to be a major blunder of the 2024 election cycle.
For many, many months now, Biden has done everything possible to take full ownership of the current economy, complete with taxpayer-funded banners blazed with the "Bidenomics" branding on them. He has not only attempted to portray the economy as strong but also to claim that the millions of jobs that came back after the pandemic shutdowns ended were jobs that his economic policies "created."
While Biden and the White House were clearly in denial, House Democrats are not.
According to a report from Axios, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and House Majority PAC recognized how poisonous the "Bidenomics" messaging was months ago and promptly abandoned it. You don't see it anywhere on their social media or press releases.
You can't exactly blame them, can you? Polls show that Americans on both sides of the aisle blame Joe Biden for the bad economy and inflation, and the last thing any Democrat needs while seeking reelection is to intentionally link themselves to a horribly tone-deaf message and a failed president.

During a summer meeting on their economic messaging, House Democrats opted for "People Over Politics" instead of sticking with "Bidenomics," a senior Democratic leadership aide told Axios.
The White House has also finally appeared to acknowledge that the "Bidenomics" messaging wasn't helping. NBC News recently reported that Biden's speechwriters have dropped the term entirely from his speeches. The last time he used it was on November 1.
While that may be welcome news for House Democrats seeking reelection, it's likely too little, too late. Regardless of the messaging House Democrats use, Joe Biden is the poster boy for an economy that most Americans are struggling in. Presidents often bear the credit or blame for the state of the economy, and Joe Biden slapped his name all over an economy that no one in their right mind would intentionally associate themselves with.

But ditching the Bidenomics branding won't save them. Just because Democrats aren't using it doesn't mean that Republicans won't. In fact, Joe Biden made it significantly easier for Republican candidates to remind voters that a vote for a Democrat is a vote for the same policies that got us into this mess in the first place. On top of that, Axios notes that "Democrats across the board intend to keep many of the policies behind the "Bidenomics" tagline front and center heading into 2024," which will make it that much easier for Republican challengers to link them to "Bidenomics."
