Christmas 2016 is in the books! And 2017 is upon us. The whirlwind of activity surrounding our 12 Days of Christmas has us needing a vacation day to recoup. Which is what happened Wednesday. We did nothing but read books and lie around on the couch. And it was just what we needed. Here’s hoping you are enjoying your holiday, and the vacation you need afterward.

Now that I’m staring at 2017, I am ready to face it with a smile and organization. This is my year, folks. I will know what every box holds in my basement, I will sort through the bags of hand-me-down clothes for the kiddos, and I will conquer the refrigerator storage bin. Sometimes, though, I need a little inspiration to make things beautiful, as well as organized. Thanks to Julie, I can have a little of both!

I love when my readers email me interesting link-up ideas! This link from  Change in Seconds has a long list of healthy and delicious-looking recipes to get your New Year started off right. They are even labeled according to dietary preference, which makes me very happy. I’ll be doing the blueberry crumble this weekend for sure!

I have had an electric pressure cooker for a couple months now, and I love it.  But, I’ve been looking for a quick recipe to use on a weeknight for tacos. I stumbled across Skip to my Lou and have been loving this site ever since. There’s a little bit of everything mixed in to please just about anyone.

This idea from Make It & Love It makes New Years Eve just a little more fun. Who wouldn’t love an ice cream parfait in a wine glass? Sounds like a win-win to me!

I’ve never been a huge fan of New Years. Maybe it’s because I’ve never actually followed through on any resolutions I’ve made, so I just stopped making them. This article from Kristen Kill at A Better Mom was refreshing and encouraging, and it made me think I could make a plan and some goals for the coming year that would actually get accomplished. As a stay-at-home mom, I sometimes need goals to measure my days by, or the mundane takes over and I never feel like I have accomplished anything

“If you can in the coming weeks, try to get away for a couple of hours. Maybe it will be for a morning or an afternoon, or a series of 15 minute coffee breaks spread throughout several weeks, but in whatever stretches of time you are able, would you imagine with God about your life this year? Would you allow Him to bring fresh vision to your days?”
