Good Wednesday morning.
Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:
- In the morning, President Donald J. Trump will receive his daily intelligence briefing.
- In the afternoon, the president will have lunch with bicameral tax conferees.
- The president will then participate in the swearing-in of Judge Gregory Katsas to the Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
- Later in the afternoon, the president will give remarks on tax reform.
Congratulations to Alabama’s next Senator Scott Brown
For the first time in decades, Alabama has elected a Democrat senator. That’s what happens when you run a very flawed, damaged candidate like Roy Moore, so congrats to Senator-to-be Doug Jones who will, I predict, not be reelected in 2020 when he will have to run for reelection. However, Roy Moore has not conceded yet. “When the vote is this close, it is not over,” Moore said. No, it’s over, sport, it’s over. The election spread right now is about 1.5% and a recount is triggered at .5% so I’m not sure where Moore is going with this. There were more than 20,000 write-in votes for NOT MOORE OR JONES and an unknown number of provisional ballots that need to be counted.
The president congratulated Jones. People are blaming Steve Bannon. Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton shared her Chardonnay thoughts on Twitter. Democrats are making tough statements now that they are drunk with victory. Maxine Waters, never one to shy away from the important questions, asks: how many Diet Cokes did Trump drink while waiting for his “pedophile candidate” to lose? Julian Castro “warns” Ted Cruz (R-TX) that Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) is coming for him. That’s funny.
My hot take: Be warned, insurgent movement, and pick your candidates carefully. Moore was already problematic before the harassment/molestation allegations surfaced and true or not, a candidate never wants to be on defense. Following his awful interview with Hannity, Moore was always on defense. Some voters will hold their nose and vote for the lesser of the two evils but many will not vote at all like we saw last night. Republicans are indeed facing a “resistance” so do not underestimate the left’s ability to gin up animus for votes against Trump and the Republicans. I hope Mo Brooks is getting ready for 2020.
FBI agent investigating Trump/RUSSIA and Hillary Clinton email server scandal sent virulent anti-Trump text messages to his anti-Trump side piece
Is there any way to believe either of these investigations are/were legitimate? Peter Strzok, the federal agent in question, revealed himself and his FBI agent mistress to be strong opponents of President Trump and supporters of Hillary Clinton in a dump of text messages the two were “hiding” from the Bureau. Both of them were assigned to investigate the taxpayer-funded RUSSIA collusion witch hunt. Thank G-d for the inspector general.
The Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, is investigating the texts as part of a wide-ranging inquiry into how the F.B.I. handled its investigations into Mrs. Clinton’s personal email server and of the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. It is highly unusual for the government to release these types of documents until such an investigation is complete. The move caught internal investigators by surprise.
F.B.I. regulations allow agents to express opinions “as an individual privately and publicly on political subjects and candidates.”
According to the New York Times, both agents told investigators “that their comments were influenced by the troubling evidence they were seeing about Mr. Trump’s campaign ties to Russia, according to a person familiar with the internal investigation.” Really? Where is the troubling evidence? Where are the indictments based on such “troubling evidence”? So far we have people busted on some process crimes. What about all the pre-election messages they sent to each other — what were those based on?
I’m not suggesting government employees should not have opinions; of course they do as we all do. But these opinions seem a little extreme and perhaps not suited for their holder to be in charge of or assigned to investigations on matters about which they are so passionate. We get rid of biased people during jury selection, so why should people like this be given a pass?
Also on Strzok’s resume is interviewing LTG Mike Flynn, watering down the language of Comey on Hillary’s email crimes and interviewing Clinton buddies Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, where they lied without consequence. None of these events has any credibility anymore. None.

Page – God Trump is loathsome human.Strzok – Yet he many win.
Strzok – Good for Hillary.
Page – It is.
Strzok – Would he be a worse president than Cruz?
Page –Trump?, yes I think so
Strzok – I’m not sure.
Strzok – Omg he’s an idiot.
Page – He’s awful
Strzok – America will get what the voting public deserves.
Page – That’s what I’m afraid of.
This ought to go over well in future congressional hearings:

Page – Hi. Just leaving my meeting now. How we make law in this country is offensive and irresponsible.Strzok – I know it is. Its why I LOATHE congress. Can’t wait to hear the story.
He is right about this:
Strzok – I have not. But I think it’s clear he’s capturing all the white, poor voters who the mainstream republicans abandoned in all but name in the quest for the almighty $$$
