Liberal Heads Explode Over Joy Villa's 'Make America Great Again' Trump Dress at Grammys
Pop Singer Joy Villa made a dramatic and unforgettable entrance at the 2017 Grammy Awards Sunday. She arrived wearing a simple white dress -- which she removed on the red carpet, revealing a glitzy, patriotic gown featuring Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” presidential campaign slogan on the front and "Trump" written on its train in big, blingy letters.
The dress was a sensation.
Haters on Twitter immediately reacted by ridiculing Villa with mean tweets, some accusing her of wearing the Trump dress simply for publicity. The "blue check-mark mafia" was especially hostile.
ELLE magazine panned the dress, along with a couple of other outrageous outfits.
The 25-year-old, who was not nominated for a Grammy, describes herself as a “vegan” and a “feminist” in her Twitter bio. She wrote on Instagram that her "whole artistic platform is about love."
💥My whole artistic platform is about LOVE!🎶💕💋 I couldn't be where I am today without the love and tenderness of those beautiful supporters and friends around me. Thank you ❤️ I hope you enjoy tonight's @grammysawards2017 and remember to forget your problems and focus on your future! She said, "sometimes you just gotta be free to express yourself." And express herself she did:
On her YouTube channel, Villa promotes herself as an actress, singer-songwriter, painter, vegan, competitive bikini bodybuilder, and certified nutritionist.
