Summer Songs: Vigilantes Of Love, 'Green Summer Lawn'


This week we're taking a look at songs that remind us of summertime. Tucked among the trippy Britpop tunes on Athens, Georgia's own Vigilantes of Love's 2001 album Summershine is the tender ballad "Green Summer Lawn," in which lead singer and songwriter Bill Mallonee encourages a loved one to shake off the doldrums of self pity and remember that summer is coming. Maybe this winter, some of us could use that reassurance ourselves.
