Amazon Sales Up While Most Retailers Suffer

Jeff Bezos started Amazon in a dingy, out-of-the-way warehouse with a handful of tatooed, blue haired grunge kids stacking book orders on second-hand shelving. Today, in the middle of a severe economic downturn, Amazon rules the Christmas retail season.  Not bad for a guy who only wanted to build a nice little niche company.
