Is Microsoft Planning to Seize Control of Yahoo without a Buyout?

Disgruntled Yahoo investors are rumored to be pushing Microsoft into upping the ante for its Yahoo offer and take control of the company by purchasing 33 percent of the search engine stock. Coupled with the backing of several large block holders and Board members unhappy with Yahoo’s present direction, Microsoft would effectively grab control of the struggling Sunnyvale company. It’s reported that Yahoo Chairman Roy Bostock has come to the realization that some sort of deal with Microsoft has to happen and that the reorganization of the company, due to be announced around the company annual meeting in August, will have Founder Jerry Yang out the door.
