The Warmchurian Candidate

In her Newsreal column, Kathy Shaidle writes, “One of my deal breakers (were I still single) is magic tricks. ‘Pick a card, any card'”:

The guys at the George Soros Steno Pool, also known as Media Matters, are still trying to impress their blind dates with fumbling table magic and lousy sleight of hand.

They’re hoping to focus your attention to those hacked “Climaquiddick” emails; no less than four headlines on their homepage today pointedly mention them, beneath a cheap stock photo of a particularly shabby looking polar bear.

Of course, the real story lies in the hacked computer code files, not bitchy messages between some scientists, and how they were acquired. (Funny, the mainstream media isn’t this scrupulous about the source of “stolen documents” when they support their favorite narratives.)

The big liberal media is practicing the same sleight of hand, in part because emails are easier for the average “math-is-hard”  journo to “analyze” than scientific data or computer code.

And in part because the code, where the real scandal lies, proves that their pet cause, “global warming,” was the Loch Ness monster of weather all along.

As blogger Jim Treacher quipped: “Climategate is a story about computer hacking in much the same way Watergate was a story about parking garages.”

Hey, Watergate! Remember that? “Following the money”? Those “brave” journalists going up against the Establishment? All the President’s Men?

Oh wait: wrong movie. One about brainwashing makes a much more fitting reference point…

We’re busting it up so good all the queen’s horses and all the queen’s men will never put old Raymond back together again. You don’t work any more! That’s an order. Anybody invites you to a game of solitaire, you tell ‘em sorry, buster, the ball game is over.

Guess I picked the wrong week to quit making Manchurian Candidate references!
