Pivoting In Pink

Speaking of Oceania, its Inner Party, and its wars, we’ve already noted that numerous prominent leftists have recently signaled that they’re ready to junk Afghanistan, after touting it, prior to November of 2008, as The Good War, The Right War (as Time magazine dubbed it last year), when compared with Iraq, which the left had already pivoted against in 2003 and 2004.

Taking a remarkably contrarian tack, another far left group, Code Pink, is “Rethinking Their Opposition to Afghan War”, the Weasel Zippers blog notes. I guess, as Janeane Garofalo noted in 2003, it’s not “very hip” to protest when a Democrat is in the White House.

But you can’t tells who’s pivoting where on the left without a scorecard, a topic I explored late last year in a Silicon Graffiti video I filmed live from the Ministry of Truth in beautiful downtown Airstrip One:
