Twitter on Friday suspended accounts of the right-wing group Proud Boys and its founder, actor/writer/comedian Gavin McInnes, for violating its policy on “violent extremist groups.” To the delight of the far-left — including antifa — Twitter also took down several accounts associated with the Proud Boys organization.

The regional Proud Boys account that was most on my case has also been suspended. @proudboysca once got the main PB account to retweet this tweet. (The group in question is their notion of “antifa,” fyi) pic.twitter.com/XccHZeKDys

Rufio, rufio, rufio… was also suspended. He is the Proud Boy who is now infamous for knocking out a masked antifascist counterprotester at a Patriot Prayer event in Portland.

Rufio Panman, in case you didn’t know, is sort of a legend in right-wing circles because of his athletic prowess against antifa in the protest arena.

McInnes is a co-founder of Vice Media, and in addition to being a host at Conservative Review, is the host of “The Gavin McInnes Show” on Compound Media and a contributor for The Rebel Media and Taki’s Magazine. He has also been a frequent guest on Fox News. He founded the Proud Boys in 2016.
The suspensions came ahead of the Unite the Right 2 rally scheduled for this Sunday in Washington, D.C. The media routinely repeats SPLC disinformation, including their claim that the Proud Boys were “present at the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville.” The Proud Boys, however, officially disavowed the rally months before it happened.
McInnes also strongly disavowed the Unite the Right 2 rally:
Make no mistake, Gavin was suspended from @Twitter for no reason whatsoever.
He’s a controversial satirist and one of the nicest most accepting guys you’ll ever meet.
His suspension is moronic and wrong. pic.twitter.com/NvCeOTvBFy

Gavin was suspended for taking responsibility for guys he knows placing decals on a sidewalk.
An even dumber reason than I originally thought. pic.twitter.com/C7PGzvyKu8

The suspensions came as the Left has pressured social media companies to deplatform conservatives they don’t like.
Vox is now pushing for the censorship of @StefanMolyneux, @Lauren_Southern, @SCrowder, @MarkDice, @Gavin_McInnes, @PrisonPlanet, @RealCandaceO, and others on YouTube. pic.twitter.com/JT6nYKkCH7

FarLeftWatch and others pointed out the double standard of right-wing brawlers getting deplatformed while violent left-wing thugs are left alone.
.@Twitter suspended Gavin McInnes and several Proud Boys accounts for violating their "policy prohibiting violent extremist groups".
Meanwhile, this far-left account that is instructing Twitter users to carry out domestic terror attacks against @ICEgov is STILL active. pic.twitter.com/oA7pmY9LLC

.@Twitter shut down Gavin McInnes but this antifa account that distributes posters encouraging the execution of the President is still active. Does this not violate your TOS, @Jack? pic.twitter.com/yMOQvUX2gt

The organization "Antifa" has engaged in systematic violent behavior including felony assault.
I am calling on @TwitterSafety to abide by their TOS & remove this violent and dangerous organization + associated accounts from the platform.
Rt if you agree.https://t.co/v5lb6qvfRm

Prison Planet’s Alex Jones, who incredibly still maintains a Twitter account, weighed in on the bannings:

FarLeftWatch had advice for those who want to be safe on Twitter:
PRO-TIP:
If you are right-of-center, change your profile picture to a communist flag and explicitly call for political violence on your profile header. That way @Jack and @TwitterSupport won't suspend your account. pic.twitter.com/rUoss8vYEi
