Sister of Viral Charlotte Assailant Wants Her Brother in Jail, Not Released AGAIN

The sister of a serial criminal who filmed himself beating women in North Carolina criticized authorities for releasing him so many times and thus facilitating the assaults.

Di-quan Hunt appears to have been targeting random white women for his attacks, during which he cursed at the women and used both racially and sexually derogatory terms. Stooping over one brutalized woman, he shrieked, “F**k you, blue n***a.” But it turns out Hunt’s own family has been reporting him to the police over and over, hoping someone would finally take him off the streets for good. Unfortunately, Charlotte is a Democrat-run city, and the authorities love nothing better than re-releasing career criminals.

Hunt’s sister said the family has for years tried to get him mental health treatment and institutionalization, but without success, per WSOC TV. Twice this week alone, Hunt’s family called police to provide his location and evidence that would help police decide to make an arrest.

The family is simultaneously relieved at Hunt’s long-delayed arrest and afraid for themselves after receiving death threats. For that reason, the sister did not want her name published. She described Hunt as “empty, he’s broken, he’s stalled.” Hunt refuses to take his medication or accept long-term help.

In fact, because both Hunt and local authorities are in denial about his condition, the only permanent solution is institutionalization. “His diagnoses are paranoid schizophrenia, PTSD, and bi-polar disorder,” the sister said.

Hunt has attacked his family members before, too, and before the Dilworth attacks that went viral on social media, his sister noticed a dangerous outbreak of instability. “He completely just flipped, and that turned into violence. And we had to call the cops then,” she said. “‘Did he hit you?’ Yes, things would get physical between him and me or even my mom and him.”

[WSOCTV] The family has spent years attempting to secure long-term institutional care for Hunt. His sister said they have contacted various officials, including his therapist, probation officer, attorneys and judges.
“Asking, please help us. How can we get my brother in an institution? How can we get him medicated? And it leads us back to the same all the time he’s released,” she said.
Family members reported an assault and video evidence to police last Monday. They contacted officers again this past Thursday to provide an idea of where Hunt might be located.

But tragically, some people furious at Hunt’s assaults have made the assumption that his family is just like him. “Our safety has been threatened, my children have been threatened, people have come to my home, people have sent things to my home,” the sister said. Hunt’s family hopes a police investigation will assist the cause of justice for the victims. The sister is worried about police releasing Hunt again, however.
