Current California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra, as Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services secretary, oversaw numerous disastrous initiatives, including COVID-19 vaccine mandates, unconstitutional censorship of social media, and devastating lockdown policies. But perhaps his most shameful legacies were castrating gender dysphoric kids and trafficking hundreds of thousands of exploited unaccompanied alien children (UACs) into the USA.
Becerra’s successor, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., pulled no punches in dismantling his predecessor's track record as the woke former HHS secretary heads to a general election against Republican Steve Hilton in California. Becerra’s entire list of accomplishments was urging irreparably damaging “transgender treatments” on kids, losing track of 300,000 or more illegal alien minors, and facilitating mass theft of taxpayer money through fraud, Kennedy emphasized.
Kennedy made his comments about Becerra in a lengthy June 10 defense against an extremely biased attack piece from The New York Times’s Sheryl Stolberg. “When we came in, there were still artifacts from the first Trump administration in many of our office drawers because no one showed up for work during the Biden years,” Kennedy told Stolberg. “Just as Rochelle Walensky spent her entire term as CDC Director in Cambridge, Xavier Becerra reportedly spent most of his term as HHS Secretary in California. I live in California, but I’ve only been there once in fifteen months.”
Continuing on the subject of Becerra, Kennedy stated:
His only notable accomplishments here were losing 300,000 children, referred to HHS for custody and care, to human traffickers and drug runners, encouraging transgender surgeries, and disabling the entire program-integrity apparatus, allowing hundreds of billions of dollars of theft from my agency. I have set out to find the children Becerra lost. He is now the front-runner for the governor of California. These are not invented stories; they are genuine scandals that the Times will never cover, presumably, because the malefactors are Democrats.
Of course, the irony is that Kennedy was also a Democrat for his whole life, but simply because he’s working for the Trump administration, and because he is not willing to say that every product out of Big Pharma is miraculous, leftist media is out to get him.
But to return to the subject of Becerra, I want to take just a few examples to reinforce what Kennedy said. Firstly, in 2022, after Texas Republicans took action to restrict harmful and unscientific “treatments” such as hormone therapy for minors as abusive, Becerra targeted Texas. He claimed the state had to allow parents and providers to encourage gender dysphoria by any means. He asserted that not providing such damaging interventions as cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers was illegal and encouraged providers in Texas to hide "transitioning" children from the state. Since then, Kennedy's HHS has confirmed the many disastrous psychological and physical results from sex-rejecting interventions.
On Transgender Day of Remembrance in 2024, Becerra issued a gushing statement. And Becerra also confirmed to Congress in 2022 that the Biden administration supported using taxpayer dollars for “transgender surgeries” and procedures such as mastectomies on minors.

Furthermore, Becerra’s HHS was heavily involved in placing UACs with traffickers and sex abusers. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said that over 15,000 suspected traffickers each sponsored three or more children, and that some of the children may have been sexually abused 600-700 times.
That is Becerra’s legacy. And that is why it is so important that he does not become the next governor of California.
