Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass looks like such a fool in light of the recent mayoral candidate debate, her own obviously disastrous track record, and the ads Republican opponent Spencer Pratt has been turning out, that she withdrew from a televised forum. The all-arrogant Democrat dictator of LA must really be afraid she could lose this race.
The League of Women Voters and Pat Brown Institute made the announcement in a joint statement. “Mayor Bass’s withdrawal is disappointing. Public forums such as this are a cornerstone of democratic accountability. These forums provide voters with the opportunity to hear candidates share their perspectives, respond to questions, and engage with one another on issues facing Los Angeles,” the groups said.
Mike Bonin, who is in charge of the Pat Brown Institute, told the California Post, "We are disappointed that voters will be denied the opportunity to see the Mayor side-by-side with her main opponents in a televised forum just as voters are beginning to really pay attention to the race." The Post clarified that Pratt was not going to be part of the forum because of schedule conflicts, making Bass's withdrawal even more interesting. Apparently she couldn't even stand to go up against her fellow leftists again.

Pratt has certainly been pummeling her. For instance, in one video discussing shady deals in the California Democrat machine, Pratt exclaimed, "Everyone in [California’s] government is milking taxpayers through these shady NGOs and nowhere is it more pervasive than Karen [Bass’s] L.A., where the homeless organizations [are] raking in cash, but the problem continues to fester.” He challenged, “Ever wonder why we pour billions of our taxpayer dollars into homelessness and yet you only see more filth and drug addicts on the streets? Because it's all a scam! They're stealing your money. When I'm mayor, this mafia racket stops."

How does LA mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt feel about being compared to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani?

During the May 6 debate, Pratt went hardcore on placing the blame for various disasters, including the 2025 L.A. fires, on Bass. "First off, Mayor Bass and I are definitely not working together,” Pratt replied to an accusation from socialist Nithya Raman. “I blame this person for burning my house and my parents’ house and my town and all my neighbors down." Pratt, a former TV personality, lost his home in the deadly fires that took dozens of lives. Bass was among the Democrats who refused to take common sense fire prevention measures or water storage initiatives because of woke climate ideology, and she also sneaked out of the country just before the fires began to spread even though she knew there was a severe fire risk. Since then, Bass has slow-rolled the rebuild every step of the way to the extent that Donald Trump finally took national executive action on permits this year.

Speaking of Pratt, here's his heartbreaking Mother's Day video about what his family lost in the fires:

Other ads are just as damaging for Bass's image, though more light-hearted. AI videos are masterfully getting his message across.
