Minnesota Students Who Protested ICE Have Awful Test Scores

The students who staged a viral anti-ICE walkout at a Minnesota high school have horrifyingly low proficiency in math and reading. Instead of teaching them woke lies, the teachers should be trying to teach the kids basic literacy.

A video is circulating on X of a large mob of Burnsville High School students pouring into a snowy street, waving foreign flags and chanting “No more ICE! No more ICE!” It is not known if any of them are illegal aliens. Florida’s Voice reported that school administrators specifically gave the students the time for their protest.

As of 2022, 84% of U.S. educators’ election campaign contributions went to Democrats, according to the Educational Freedom Institute. The majority of educators in America now are much more leftist activists than they are honest teachers. Hence the children are brainwashed like the Burnsville students.

Speaking of which, Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Schools’ students are learning little beyond hatred of federal immigration enforcement. Their math proficiency is deplorable, and their reading proficiency is concerning. The only area where the high schools of the district can boast of ranking near the top is racial “diversity,” based on data from Public School Review

Here’s the revealing paragraph:

Public High Schools in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Schools have an average math proficiency score of 18% (versus the Minnesota public high school average of 36%), and reading proficiency score of 45% (versus the 51% statewide average).

You will be horrified to know that the high schools have a 76% graduation rate notwithstanding the illiteracy of their students, and that Burnsville High School has the highest rate of graduation for the district at 82%. So most of the anti-ICE students in the above video will not be able to count or read, but they will graduate.

The average test ranking for the Burnsville high schools is three out of ten, which puts it in the bottom half of Minnesota public schools.

Burnsville High School might be a particularly egregious example, but it is really representative of the educational crisis across the United States. Students are regularly taught to believe in open borders, to honor Islamic terrorists, to hate Jews and Trump voters, and to believe in biological impossibilities like transgenderism. At the same time, they can barely write a coherent sentence or perform simple sums let alone pass geometry or read Shakespeare and Longfellow.

The Founding Fathers valued education highly not because they believed that education automatically made a person more virtuous or dependable, but because they knew that the ignorant and the irrational are more vulnerable to tyranny and propaganda.

The Burnsville teachers have failed their students. And the students will go on to spread political and societal havoc. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
