DC Officials Confirm Shooting of Guardsmen Was Targeted. Dems Fueled the Violence

The shooting of two National Guardsmen in D.C. today was a targeted attack, according to federal and city officials. While the identity and motive of the shooter have yet to be released, we all know that one political party has been fueling violence and hatred against guardsmen.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) said during a joint press conference with law enforcement officials and FBI Director Kash Patel, "I too want to send my thoughts and prayers to the families of the guardsmen and to the guardsmen who are in a critical condition." She then responded to a question from a reporter, "What we know, Andrea, is that this is a targeted shooting. One individual who appeared to target these guardsmen."

Executive Assistant Chief Jeff Carroll confirmed that the individual walked around a corner and promptly shot at the National Guard troops. Patel promised to bring the suspect, who is in custody, to justice.

But Bowser herself is part of the problem, with her repeated comments framing the presence of guardsman in D.C as a dictatorial occupation. In August, when Pres. Donald Trump first deployed the troops to clean up the city, she called the move “unsettling and unprecedented” and an “authoritarian push.” She urged D.C. residents to “protect our city” and seemingly claimed that groups of children could be targets for the guardsmen. Just earlier today, she called the deployment an “unprecedented action” and bragged that “we got out of it.” She was referring to a woke court ruling that Trump‘s deployment of the National Guard to D.C. was illegal. No wonder residents of her city who support her believe that the guardsmen are a threat.

Bowser is one of many, many leftists who smeared National Guardsmen in D.C. For example, here are just a few hysterical headlines and article snippets:

Vox: “The real reason Trump’s DC takeover is scary[.] Right now, he’s doing authoritarianism badly. But it could still work in the long run.”

CNN: “Trump’s Washington, DC, crackdown is a political stunt. But it could take a much darker turn…Using the military in policing roles is a device familiar from totalitarian states, where the first act of a dictator is usually to send troops onto the streets of the capital.”

The Atlantic: “The President’s Police State”

Advocate: “For Washington’s LGBTQ+ residents, who make up 14.5 percent of the adult population, the highest proportion in the country, the stakes are high. Bowser has called the District “the gayest city in the world” and has pledged to defend the city’s LGBTQ+ resources, which now face being administered under a president whose administration has been defined by rollbacks of queer and trans rights.”

In These Times: “The spectacle of Trump’s Washington takeover may be fascist pageantry, but it’s also something more.”

Democrat politicians have been just as dishonest. “Things People are NOT begging for: 1. An authoritarian power grab of major cities,” sneered Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. “Shocking stuff, even for Trump,” Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-Md.) gibbered to Axios.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) raged, “[Trump's] order to deploy the National Guard and Marines – our own troops – on Americans is not just outrageous and provocative, it’s a dangerous authoritarian overreach that threatens the very fabric of our democracy.” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) told Trump, “Get lost.” Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) ranted, “Trump’s raw authoritarian power grab in DC is part of a growing national crisis.”

Democrats have blood on their hands.
