No matter what is happening with the weather, you can be absolutely certain that the mainstream media will interpret anything and everything as a symptom of catastrophic climate change. However, a prominent researcher is challenging the current doom narrative about extreme weather events.
American Enterprise Institute fellow and science and technology researcher Roger Pielke Jr. says that IPCC data and data from other sources do not in fact show any clear, detectable trends in many types of extreme weather. That includes droughts, hurricanes, and floods, undermining the media narrative. Improvements in detection and reporting are responsible for some claimed changes.
And as we learned when we found out that a third of the temperature stations used to calculate average global temperature did not even exist, sometimes the data was completely unreliable to begin with. Other factors that have to be taken into account include urban heat islands. So, for instance, temperature stations planted right next to airports will automatically measure higher temperatures.
Pielke reportedly slammed media alarmists and scientists with political agendas for distorting reality and refusing to acknowledge natural variability in weather patterns. Speaking of which, take a look at some headlines this year of exactly the sort Pielke critiqued:
Des Moines Register: “Climate change is driving up insurance costs for Iowa homes, farms, scientists say.” (Obviously government regulation isn’t to blame in any way.)

Tucson Sentinel: “Climate change pushes Arizona into ‘uncharted territory’ with deadly heat.” (I just have to comment on this. I’ve lived in Tucson almost my entire life, and this was certainly not our hottest summer. The claims in the article are laughable to any sane native.)

These media outlets don’t care that every major climate alarmist prediction for decades has been wrong. They ignore the fact that weather patterns tend to fluctuate naturally between cooler and warmer periods every few years. They try to hide the reality that warming temperatures are beneficial as they make ecosystems thrive.
The climate propaganda is not about science or saving humanity. It’s about Marxist ideology and crushing freedom and rights. That’s why whenever evidence undermines a climate alarmist claim, the media hacks just double down and scream insults at any scientist who dares to challenge the narrative.
Pielke is absolutely right — MSM hacks are obscuring facts and driving a culture of dishonest ideological pseudo-science.
