Gavin Newsom‘s former chief of staff and a current staffer of Senator Tammy Duckworth are facing new charges or allegations for crimes they allegedly committed. This is not coincidence. The reason so many Democrats are accused of criminal activity is because the Democrat Party celebrates and protects criminals. Naturally, it attracts criminals to its ranks.
Whether it is violent domestic terrorists, illegal aliens, serial criminals, or fraudsters, Democrats are always siding with evil-doers. Their pro-crime and open borders policies, their extreme efforts to thwart ICE arrests, and their total indifference to politicians’ felonious and corrupt conduct all illustrate how the Democrat Party is the party of crime.
Two recent stories illustrate exactly what I mean. First we have Dana Williamson, the former chief of staff for California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is facing federal grand jury charges, according to a press release from the Justice Department’s Eastern District of California office. Williamson is charged with conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstruct justice, subscribing to false tax returns, and making false statements. That’s quite the array of charges.
Among her criminal actions was:
According to court documents, between February 2022 and September 2024, Williamson conspired with others to divert approximately $225,000 in funds from a dormant political campaign to an associate’s personal use. Collectively, they funneled the money through various business entities and disguised it as pay for what was, in reality, a no-show job.

Then we have Tammy Duckworth’s (D-Illinois) staffer, who reportedly posed as an immigration lawyer to rescue a serial criminal illegal alien:

This particular crime is not at all surprising, it was even in a sense predictable. We’ve had Democrat politicians assault ICE, Dems’ rhetoric inspired a 1,000% increase in assaults on ICE agents, and many Democrats violate federal law by enforcing sanctuary policies. In the latter group is Newsom, Williamson’s erstwhile boss. Among those who encourage violence against ICE is Duckworth.
Just a couple weeks ago, Duckworth was screeching and wailing that Donald Trump and ICE were making communities “less safe.” Duckworth, totally ignoring the fact that by arresting illegal aliens ICE is addressing human trafficking and all the other crimes she listed, ranted, “President Donald Trump’s radical decision to divert our nation’s premier law enforcement officers away from critical public safety missions, such as disrupting terrorist plots, stopping illegal firearms trafficking, dismantling human trafficking operations and hunting down fugitives, has made America less safe.”
Should we really be surprised if one of her staffers impersonated a lawyer to help a criminal illegal alien escape deportation? No. It is exactly what one might unfortunately expect, not only from a Duckworth staffer but from a Democratic staffer.
