Teachers’ union joins Target boycott
America’s largest teachers’ union, headed by the vicious and notorious carpet-muncher Randi Weingarten, joined the DEI Target boycott, which I’ve covered previously at PJ Media, for numerous alleged hate crimes, including failing to “make a multimillion-dollar investment into 23 Black-owned banks” (“black” being spelled with a capital B to convey cultural domination).
Via American Federation of Teachers (emphasis added):
On Labor Day, AFT President Randi Weingarten joined Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates and Dr. Jamal Bryant, senior pastor at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, Ga., to announce dual union resolutions in support of the nationwide boycott against Target, after the retailer rescinded its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to comply with the Trump administration’s offensive attacks on DEI and communities of color.
Announced during Chicago’s “Workers Over Billionaires” Labor Day march and rally, the union support for the boycott comes as public school educators, students and their families return to the classroom and as school supply purchases are front-of-mind for many. The AFT’s executive committee passed its resolution late last week, making it clear that its 1.8 million members—public school educators, school-related personnel, higher education faculty and staff, healthcare workers and government employees—should spend their money elsewhere until Target reverses its stance.
Since Bryant launched his boycott against Target, the retail chain has lost over $12 billion in sales and removed its CEO amid declining shopper confidence and a spiraling share price.
The AFT’s resolution calls for Target to honor its commitment by:
- Fulfilling its $2 billion pledge to the Black business community;
- Making a multimillion-dollar investment into 23 Black-owned banks;
- Establishing 10 retail training centers at historically Black colleges and universities; and
- Fully restoring and recommitting to DEI principles.

Meanwhile, as the teacher’s union focuses its finite attention on a random corporation for not donating enough money to BLM credit unions or whatever, record numbers of American 12th graders, whom its members are responsible for educating, are reading with the poorest comprehension in at least two decades.
Via Associated Press (emphasis added):
A decade-long slide in high schoolers’ reading and math performance persisted during the COVID-19 pandemic, with 12th graders’ scores dropping to their lowest level in more than 20 years, according to results released Tuesday from an exam known as the nation’s report card.
Eighth-grade students also lost significant ground in science skills, according to the results from the National Assessment of Education Progress.
The assessments were the first since the pandemic for eighth graders in science and 12th graders in reading and math. They reflect a downward drift across grade levels and subject areas in previous releases from NAEP, which is considered one of the best gauges of the academic progress of U.S. schools.
Why can’t public school kids read anymore?
There are lots of reasons, of course, but one of the major ones is that comrade Randi forced schools to remain closed for years based on pseudoscience so her teachers could enjoy lengthy vacations.

DEI Jabba the Hut, election denier, and shame of Georgia: ‘DEI is actually the cornerstone of restoring our democracy’
Stacey Abrams to George W. Bush’s former propagandist, who now works at MSNBC for some reason and has a podcast that no one watches except when some moron says something like this and it gets clipped on social media:
I think defending DEI is actually the cornerstone of restoring our democracy. Because when you can manipulate and weaponize people against each other, when you get the people to do your bidding, you don’t have to do it yourself. So you make transgender children the reason for inflation.

I think the point she’s inarticulately attempting to make is that the culture war is intentionally inflamed by economic elites in order to distract from their criminality and prevent any unified opposition, which I agree with.

However, the hypocrisy of her statement — the internal contradiction within this twenty-second clip that she’s too stupid to see, or else too shameless to avoid — is that by continuing to promote DEI as a “cornerstone of democracy,” she is engaging in the exact thing she is ostensibly decrying.
