Proof that the Democrats have no principles and, in fact, don’t care about winning elections if it comes at the detriment of the machine the party serves, in case there was ever any doubt, is in the candidate it is currently pushing: a full-on Manchurian Swamp creature and woke “retired” CIA spook who emerged out of nowhere, freshman Senator Elissa Slotkin.

She was selected by whoever pulls the levers of the Democrat machine, probably Barack Obama, to deliver a totally lackluster and lame rebuttal to Trump’s non-State-of-the-Union State of the Union speech two months ago.
It amounted to eleven minutes of vapid babbling that no one will remember, except perhaps by pundits for how embarrassingly mediocre her performance was.Sad!
She’s going nowhere.
However, there is another set of Democrat candidates who, no matter what you think about them, are doing serious numbers, even in places one might not expect.
If the Democrats, in a wild hypothetical alternative universe, were sincere and smart about winning elections and adhering to the principles they profess to deeply believe in, they would dive head-first into the Bernie/AOC narrative, which is that the United States is run by oligarchs who undermine the welfare of the vast majority in order to garner greater wealth and power concentrated in tiny pockets of the country — places like the D.C. suburbs, Manhattan, and Martha’s Vineyard.Related: Physician: Libs Experiencing ‘9/11-Style’ Trauma After MAGA Takeover
Americans from coast to coast absolutely reveled in the discomfort inflicted on these people when Governor DeSantis shipped busloads of “migrants” to the latter. The residents who feign deep empathy for “migrants” promptly flipped their wigs and had the migrants deported to more suitable habitats — meaning, not around them where they might drag the real estate value into the gutter.
It was a huge political win and, some might argue, a sea-change in the way the public viewed Democrats and their approach to immigration.
Hating on the oligarchs, right or wrong, is political gold. But the Democrats won’t seriously indulge the Bernie/AOC line of attack as far as making it their platform because: a.) they’re not that smart and b.) they are literally bankrolled by the oligarchy and would never bite the hand that feeds.

They’d rather keep collecting the checks and losing elections than lose the gravy train and maybe win.
So what you get is Elissa Slotkin, who recently pleaded with Democrats not to talk about the “oligarchy” because it’s unbecoming — as if she’s offering any kind of remotely compelling alternative messaging strategy.
Via Politico (emphasis added):
Elissa Slotkin, the former CIA analyst turned battleground senator, will on Thursday start road-testing what she calls a “war plan” to “contain and defeat Donald Trump.”…
Her strategy also focuses on language and tone. She said Democrats should stop using the term “oligarchy,” a phrase she said doesn’t resonate beyond coastal institutions, and just say that the party opposes “kings.”
Of course, the reason she supports using the term “kings” as the punching bag instead of “oligarchs” is two-fold: first, she serves the oligarchs herself and, second, by using “kings,” she hopes to focus the ire of the public on one man, Elon Musk, while ignoring the entire Swamp apparatus that, again, she has served her entire career.
