But the entitlement mentality is a myth!

Shelves in Walmart stores in Springhill and Mansfield, LA were reportedly cleared Saturday night, when the stores allowed purchases on EBT cards even though they were not showing limits.

The chaos that followed ultimately required intervention from local police, and left behind numerous carts filled to overflowing, apparently abandoned when the glitch-spurred shopping frenzy ended.

Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd confirms they were called in to help the employees at Walmart because there were so many people clearing off the shelves. He says Walmart was so packed, “It was worse than any black Friday” that he’s ever seen.

Lynd explained the cards weren’t showing limits and they called corporate Walmart, whose spokesman  said to let the people use the cards anyway. From 7 to 9 p.m., people were loading up their carts, but when the cards began showing limits again around 9, one woman was detained because she rang up a bill of $700.00 and only had .49 on her card. She was held by police until corporate Walmart said they wouldn’t press charges if she left the food.

Walmart employees could still be seen putting food from the carts away as late as Sunday afternoon. “I was just thinking, I’m so glad my mom doesn’t work here [Walmart] anymore, that’s the only thing I could think about, those employees working, that would have to restock all that stuff,” said O.J Evans who took cell phone video of the overflowing shopping carts at the Mansfield Walmart.

Evans believes it was natural human reaction that led people to fill up their carts during the glitch, but Walmart shoppers Stan and Judy Garcia feel very differently. ”That’s plain theft, that’s stealing that’s all I got to say about it,” said Garcia.

The glitch occurred when the EBT system vendor was doing routine system maintenance and the power went out. Word about the glitch spread quickly.

Who wants to bet that Obamaphones were used to spread the word about the glitch?

But we're called heartless and greedy when we say we don't want to be taxed for even more money to provide even more stuff for these people ...

I can't imagine why I don't want to give them more.

Probably be weeks before they can find any more Arizona tea, Skittles and Robitussin....typical animal-like behavior from the section of society that commits all levels of crimes in vastly disproportionate numbers to their representation.

Our ABC local affiliate interviewed irate food stamp recipients who couldn't use their cards and most of them blamed the government shutdown (Republicans) for the problem. Maybe it wasn't a glitch, just another way for Obama & Co. to inflict more pain.

This was not a glitch. A planned PR stun by Obama. Wal Mart made a bad decision. I hope the thieves are prosecuted if they can be identified.

I have zero empathy or respect for the Wal-Mart shelve raiders. But the entitlement culture is not confined to the welfare class. I run into an unbelievable sense of entitlement amongst my wealthy peers in finance. Was not TARP one giant entitlement program? Does not QE support everyone's investment account and real estate asset values? While literally the World’s middle class is utterly crushed with every additional billion dollars of “free” money. The endemic entitlement culture crosses all economic and social strata.
As Americans we spent the last 50 years building a culture of ingratitude: from the "Me" generation to the "Millennials," “X,” “Y,” etc. Republican politicians' entitlement is profound, their ingratitude fixed in failed policies and politics without even the remotest sense of accountability. Can anyone name one Republican legislative initiative of the last 25 years that did not reinforce the culture of entitlement?
We know the Democratic Party subsists on the principle of Entitlement fueled by a preening, judgmental principle of Resentment. These two defining Democratic Party principles will be the end of all of us. Who in the Republican Congressional leadership dare step forward to confront our culture of Entitlement and Resentment? Who will rise to the challenge? I think Senator Cruz (R-TX) just did and he wears the mantle of accountability lightly. And his Republican “colleagues” and “conservative” pundits call it ego! Really?

I think it is part of the Obama Hostage Threats being carefully and deliberately revealed in that cunning and crafty Chicago Gangsta style. You know, the one without any class or wisdom.
