The subject at hand is the lack of any deal in the fiscal cliff standoff and grisly economic freak show. The guest is Democrat Ben Cardin of Maryland. Maria Bartiromo begins her interview with Sen. Cardin with a straightforward question: “Are you guys incompetent or what?” What proceeds after that is a real pleasure to watch. Stick around for the deserved applause at the end, after Bartiromo has dismissed the senator with a parting blast.

Maria Bartiromo did five minutes what the GOP couldn’t do in two months: Expose the lie that the Dems are negotiating in good faith. Maybe they should make her speaker. Smarter than Boehner and hotter to boot.
That should be “did in three minutes what the GOP couldn’t do in two months”.

Ms. Bartiromo’s mistake is her belief that Americans aren’t stupid.
As a rebuttal, I would offer that those “not stupid” people re-elected Barack Obama.
And there was never any doubt in anyone’s mind that Maryland would not vote for him.
Thus, Americans ARE stupid, and Marylanders are ESPECIALLY stupid.

I’ve never understand why Republicans are hesitant to go on these programs and simply call their Dimocratic adversaries out with the words failures, liars, rank propagandists, and demagogues.

I’m sorry, I don’t get it. How does Mrs. Bartiromo acting like an ass do anything but inspire contempt. I had a hard time thinking she wasn’t one of those leftist hags that more commonly infect the airways, but no this time it is a rightist hag. We are done for, it’s over, there is nothing left of my country now, not even a side I want to take and nowhere to go.
Why attack her? She said what we all feel and from her point of view as a Wall Street journalist she was just calling it like she sees it. We are toast as a nation unless we have a real revolution. Just like our great fore fathers we have reached a point where we are not represented by the people we elected. They represent themselves, not us. This blow hard Cardin was caught spouting the Demorat mantra and he couldn’t get away with it. The Repubs are no better. My God look at the terrible Boehner! The man should be running a barber shop somewhere in Ohio for smokers. The only way out of this mess is to go over the cliff and then let the ire of the American people take over.

Now THAT’s what you call an adversarial press. The country would be better served if the talking heads networks treated our puffed-up clowns masquerading as “public servants” — even the ones on their preferred side — in a manner where you don’t believe a word they say. MSNBC should batter Obama talking heads non-stop about stuff like Gitmo, Fox News should call out Republicans for spending like drunken sailors during the Bush years, etc.

Hard to believe Maria and Scott share the same news network family as the folks at Most Stupid ‘N Biased Channel. Maybe GE really seeks a “fairly balanced” news portfolio after all!
Maria is supposed to be a journalist, her rant was disgusting, I lost all respect for her. The Republicans are having problems now because they are on the wrong side of history, they deny women’s rights, they prevent scientific research, they favor the richest elites, they are trying to take way social security for people who paid in over their lives and have nothing else, they are trying to change medicare into private insurance…. they are in the process of destroying themselves as a viable party in this country. Maria should be fired and re-hired at Fox, where all the talking heads can rant day and night.

All of these poor little rich people are frantic because they realize they lost the election and don’t have they power they thought was theirs by virtue of money and power.

She was absolutely correct – maybe she is rich, but the questions are still the same. I am middle class and will not be affected by the “rich” tax rate increase if that is what happens, however this has got to stop. The rich are not evil people – some are jerks but there are lots of middle class jerks too. So many people feel the same way – my husband says if we don’t start speaking up – then we will be the next ones. No one – and I mean NO ONE should have to pay 39.6% of their income in federal taxes; add to that the state taxes and in some states 50% of your income is paid in income taxes. No one – and I mean NO ONE should have to pay inheritance tax of 55%. The insanity has to stop. I don’t like that Republicans spent too much money when they were in charge and I don’t like what is happening now. Just because it was done by one side in the past doesn’t make it right today.
She was horribly unprofessional. She used her position to express her personal views and refused to let the interviewee make much of a response. Reminds me of a spoiled little girl’s rant. I’ll turn off my TV if her face ever pops up. Disgusting.
