Three senators — Kelly Ayotte, John McCain, and Lindsey Graham — are calling for Watergate-style hearings into the Benghazi attack. All three also oppose the elevation of Ambassador Susan Rice to lead the State Department. Asked about their opposition to Rice during his annual press love fest on Wednesday, President Barack Obama visibly and audibly bristled at the idea that anyone would question Rice or his nomination of her. Obama took a “my way or the highway” approach Wednesday, just as he did in his first meeting with Republicans after his inauguration in 2009. “I won” has morphed into “Come after me,” despite the fact that the president earned fewer votes this time than in 2008 and his party remains out of power in the House and in most of the states.
In defending Rice, Obama played brave knight to the ambassador’s damsel in distress. That’s an interesting twist on the old fables, in which the brave knight did not actually put the damsel in her distress so that he could stage a fake rescue. That’s exactly what Obama has done in Susan Rice’s case; she delivered Benghazi misinformation on his director orders, inviting the Republican criticism of her.
“But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador, who had nothing to do with Benghazi and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received and to besmirch her reputation is outrageous,” Obama said.
The Obama White House knew during the attack that it was not sparked by a protest. It’s outrageous to question why Ambassador Rice spread misinformation about a terrorist attack that killed four Americans?
“But when they go after the U.N. ambassador, apparently because they think she’s an easy target, then they’ve got a problem with me,” Obama said, in big talk coming from a man who failed to defend the four Americans who died in Libya on 9-11-12. Obama defended Ambassador Rice against ordinary and reasonable Washington back-and-forth with more passion than he defended Ambassador Stevens. Why? He called her an “easy target.” What does that mean?
The fact is, Obama admitted that he trotted Rice out on those Sunday shows on September 16 without any deep knowledge of the issue at hand. He treated her as he treats his White House and campaign spokesmen, demeaning Rice’s role as ambassador and representative of the United States. He misused her, and he is the reason her credibility is shot.
His behavior in defending Rice suggests that Obama has already decided on nominating Rice to succeed outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. At this point it’s a matter of when, not if. He dispatched her on those Sunday shows either because she really did not know much about Benghazi and therefore could not be tripped up in any cross-examination, or to audition her to replace Clinton, or both.
His behavior Wednesday suggests that despite his pledge to consider ideas from all sides in his second term, he has no intention of actually doing so. It also signals that Obama will use every weapon at hand to get his way. The nomination of Susan Rice presents him with an obvious weapon.

Obama knows Hillary is leaving. Susan Rice goes out on national TV to lie about Benghazi. Obama chooses Rice to be SecState… as her (pre-negotiated) reward. It is child’s play to connect these dots.
I think Rice met in August with Sec. Clinton and Jimmy Carter and actually organized the attack in Benghazi (Kenyan soldiers of course). They filled Obama in before they coordinated the attack and he gave them the go ahead. Also, he did all this becasue he knew Iraq’s WMD’s were hidden in the consulate.
I think right after the Benghazi attack, word went around Zero’s handlers that Obama had loused things up again, and it was potential election-losing dynamite. The major players refused to carry the can for the video story, since they personally knew better, and so it was decided to trot out Susan Rice. When the video story fell apart, this “she’s a dumb helpless woman” who needs protection was how they planned to respond to criticism about her lies during the campaign. Zero just recycled this response during his press conference because he was too lazy to think of something else, and with his political tin ear it never occurred to him that this defense of Rice outside a campaign — a defense now aimed at an audience of US Senators rather than naive voters — immediately raises the question of why America should have such a frail helpless woman as Sec. of State.
By the way, Ed, you sound like a very young Obama supporter with your leaden sarcasm. You’ll have a discouraging four years as Zero’s ever more pronounced lame-duck status leads to ever more detailed revelations of his true character and abilities.

I was pretty sure that the national vote a couple weeks ago shored up a peoples desire for the government to problem slove the nations economy, jobs, budgets and spiraling national debt but look at whats being forced to dominate the government and the media. I do remember reading something about Obama Derangement Syndrome. If I recall, one of the primary symptoms include an unwavering support for Obama, regardless of number and/or severity of failure. Using the race card to reject Susan Rice can be trivialized by referring to the GOP’s Condi Rice. The focus has to be on her merit, in the UN and around Benghazi.

They will have talking points and diversions at the ready regardless of who is appointed to lead the Republican challenge to Rice. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a man, woman, minority, or any other identity – the complex of Dems and media will have a plan to execute and diminish the GOP person and their message.

It has been my feeling since the beginning that his only aim was to break America. If I mentioned it people thought I was crazy or just dumb. Well, I don’t know about anyone else butI haven’t seen anything to make me change my mind. I’ve seen them all since Ike, but no one made me feel this way before.
I’ve had that same feeling all along too. Trouble is nobody that has voted for this fraud have changed their minds. Unless the MSM change the tune they dance to I don’t see how anything can be changed. I have a very strong distaste of MSM people – almost as strong as my distaste for The Feckless Won and his handlers.

Could it be that our Racist in Chief chose the evidently massively unqualified (just as HE is) Rice because she is black like he is and they can use the RACIST escape hatch on her, just as they do on Zero, when (not if) she does stupid or evil things? I don’t think anybody will see down here, but you all missed a point. Obama started by referring to Rice doing her job with “grace”. Would he use such a term for a man? The whole thing was an attempt to repeat the Hilary-Lazio Senate debate – “How dare you beastly men beat up on that helpless little girl?”
I don’t like to use the word “sexist”, but Obama’s speech was one of the most sexist political performances in recent history.
And all the feminists are strangely mute on this.
