Instapundit heads the piece “Why Barack Obama Should Resign.” That’s a good title. The column might also be titled, “Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid.” I remember a line from the philosopher David Hume that Hayek used as an epigraph to The Road to Serfdom. “It is seldom,” said Hume, “that liberty of any kind is lost all at once.” There’s the innocent seeming accommodation here, the turning a blind eye to official violations of the law there, and, bang, before you can say Saul Alinsky, people are being rounded up at midnight by brownshirted men for making a movie that embarrasses El Presidente.

No one has ever seen Bush’s birth certificate or Clinton’s or Reagan’s. Obama has published images of the birth certificates and shown the physical copies (with the seal on the back, which one reporter stated that she had felt) to the press.
AND Hawaii has stated that it sent the birth certificates to Obama, and the officials of BOTH parties in Hawaii have confirmed that there is a birth certificate on file and that the facts on it match those on the birth certificate in the files, and there were birth notices sent to the papers by the DOH of Hawaii in 1961.
Recently the Conservative secretary of state of Arizona asked Hawaii to confirm that Obama was born there and to confirm other facts on his published birth certificate. Hawaii did, and the Conservative secretary of state of Arizona accepted it as evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii, and ruled that Obama will be on the ballot in Arizona in November.
Obama’s mother lived in Hawaii. Obama’s father was studying in Hawaii. There is not a shred of evidence that either of them went from Hawaii to any other country in 1961—and certainly not to Kenya, where the Kenyan government said that it checked on the “born in Kenya” claim and found that it was false. Hawaii is thousands of miles from any foreign country, and pregnant women rarely traveled late in pregnancy in those days, and yet you and other birthers apparently think that there could be a chance that Obama was born outside of the USA and that the officials of both parties in Hawaii, and the Index Data, and the birth notices sent to the newspapers by the DOH of Hawaii in 1961—-are all lying about that fact.
Re allegation that the hospital where Obama was born did not exist in 1961. Actually, it did exist.
How do we know for sure? Because there are two birth certificates for the Nordyke twins online at WND, a birther site, and the images of their birth certificates show that they were born at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital. And the birth certificates show that they were born one day after Obama. And what was the name of the hospital on Obama’s birth certificate? Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital.

I have had little but contempt for this man since first aware of him in 2007 or 2008. As president, I think he has done innumerable things which warranted his impeachment. That list is long, and if we had a genuine opposition in the USA to the evil axis of Media, Academia, Big Labor, and the DNC, along with a sane electorate, then this man would long ago have been ousted, possibly incarcerated for accessory to murder.

I’m no fan of Obama but the man being taken for questioning is reported to be on parole for defrauding people using a computer and his parole is conditional on him not using or even having a computer so it is logical that if he is now world famous for a youtube video that his parole officer would love to talk with him. He was released as far as I know. I think that the reporters who revealed his name should be fired. Since they believe that four human beings from America have already been killed horribly by Islamic medieval throwbacks in Libya and they know damn well that there are plenty of these maniacs living here in the land of the free, there is no reason to reveal this person’s name. I have long maintained that every American is a criminal of some sort by 9AM each day, and he doesn’t even know it.
We have way too many cops of all kinds. We have many times the number of laws that a civilized nation requires. Indeed, the vast majority of our laws are about making defending yourself from overzealous law enforcement a crime in and of itself. Even if they can’t prove you stole anything, lying to certain cops can get you thrown in jail. Of course, you take the plea bargain, because they are threatening you with years in prison for lying to them, so your life now is theirs.
That’s why they love drunk drivers. The damage the drunks do to society is minuscule compared to the damage done by the drunk driving industry to those drunk drivers, nearly 100% of whom are no danger to anyone. Thirty thousand people die in cars each year, about ten thousand involve drunks. For that, we arrest 900,000 people each year. Does anyone really think we are ever going to stop deaths on the highway completely? Isn’t turning almost a million citizens into criminals each year a bit extreme? Yet he average stupid American, to whom math is no friend, just love this crap, and so do the cops and lawyers and judges and builders of jails, and therapists, and the whole group of bottom feeders who make great money harassing normal people. And, no, I’ve never been arrested for drunk driving, but gobs of my money going to scummy lawyers, judges and cops is unfair punishment, too. I believe we fought a Civil War about it. Friday a student was sent home for having a rosary. Yesterday an American citizen who made a film derogatory to Islam was taken in for custody. This is happening in our America?
It’s frustrating that people aren’t seeing this for what it is. If you take a quick scan of the comments on Yahoo news stories, like half the people are still talking about Romney’s “gaffe” or “Paul Ryan- what a jerk!” This isn’t an Obama gaffe. This is the biggest mistake of his presidency. The way this administraion has behaved shows a complete lack of understanding of the basics of what the US stands for. And it just keeps on coming. Obama said something like, “since our beginning the US has sought to show respect for each others religions” No. We have Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech. If you don’t like your religion or someone else’s you can quit, you can protest, you can start your own. If we respect each others religions it is because they have earned it. Take Mormanism. Nobody respected Mormanism at the beginning but now I look at Mormans and think, “They have some goofy beliefs but generally, they seem like hardworking, clean-living, family oriented people and I respect that.” Many people lost respect for my own Catholic religion during the priest pedophilia scandal. And rightly so I might add. But Catholicism will earn people’s respect again. Maybe the open expression of disrespect has made Mormanism and Catholicism better. We don’t “seek” to respect others religions. We do or we don’t. Freedom of Speech enables truth. That is absolute fundamental key. Watering down our rights to convey some phoney, patronizing “respect” is flat out un-American.
Excuse me, but there’s a big difference between what a religion teaches and how members of that faith behave. In the case of the Catholic Church, at no time did Jesus or his disciples preach a Gospel of pedophilia, bribery, cover-ups and denial of guilt or its consequences. Those actions were the failings of the individual priests, church administrators and clergy. They were wrong, they were exposed, they brought shame upon themselves and all who aided, excused, or turned a blind eye out of fear or embarrassment or whatever misguided and self-serving excuse they came up with. The Church was called out for the actions of a group of its proponents — tarring all of us (guilty or not) in the process.
As a practicing Catholic, I am appalled by the behavior of those priests; but I don’t blame my Catholic orthodoxy for the actions of a bunch of weak, sick individuals. Once exposed, Catholics didn’t shrug our shoulders accept pedophilia as a religious precept. We spoke up, repudiated the crimes and the cover-ups, and worked to address defects in an all-too-human, bureaucratic system. One may argue that the Church hierarchy didn’t respond quickly enough or decisively. But you can’t say that was the fault of Jesus’ teaching, upon which the Catholic faith is based.
Which brings me to Islam — the religion of peace, as we are told repeatedly. I am no student of the Koran, but from what I’ve read, the Muslim faith very much preaches forced conversion, subjugation of women, contempt for other beliefs, and death to apostates and non-believers. In that regard, the actions of Islamic terrorists seems very much in keeping with their religious teachings. If it’s not, why aren’t their faithful speaking out against them? Why aren’t they appalled by and taking back their religion? And if it is what they believe, why are we not exposing Islam and the Koren as an ongoing threat to society. Why aren’t we repudiating their actions and belief structure or showing them some measure of contempt, hostility, and revulsion that so many continue to heap on Catholics…or Mormons?
They’re not speaking up because it will be the last thing they ever get to say, and because they really don’t want to. The men run the show and they like bossing everyone around. Kinda like liberals, when we are foolish enough to put them in charge.

The Obama camp has been trumpeting how he is personally responsible for the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden since immediately after it happened. Yet we are expected to believe that the threat of a film that hasn’t even been released somehow inspired the people all through the middle east to rise up in protest, purely coincidentally on September 11, 2012. Apparently a trailer for the film was posted to YouTube, but I strongly suspect most of the mob has never seen it. It’s much more likely that they were goaded into violence by agents of the Taliban and other anti American factions.
Now I see that one of the people behind the creation of the movie has not only been publicly identified by our government, his name and location reported in the media, thus putting his life at risk, but he was arrested in a middle of the night raid simply to be brought in for questioning. Seems like a blatant attempt to redirect blame to me.
I’m surprised that some high-visibilty lawyer hasn’t already stepped up to this guy’s defense. He/she ought to be spamming the airwaves with blunt denunciations. Filling very news organizations’ fax machines with updates (dated analogy, I know). Buying whole pages in the newspapers, making the case on YouTube, etc.
Might the Tea Party make an issue out of this? I realize the Tea Parties are mainly concerned about fiscal sanity, but if the basics of the Constitution are being undermined, we’re all screwed in the long run anyway.

The filmmaker is “perp” walked past the cameramen and one of the deputies has placed his hand on the “suspects” shoulder. Criminals are always handled by the arms and shoulders. Police do not lay hands on innocent people.

I propose an experiment. Someone should rent billboard space on a major highway. On that billboard they should write the following 4 word question:

It was sheer coincidence he got picked up, just because the video he allegedly made is now being blamed for Moslem attacks in the Middle-East. The fact that this video has nothing to do with any of the crimes he was on probation for, should be ignored, as a mere distraction.

I get it! (my thanks to all) – Each one of us–Conservatives and Liberals alike–lavishly love the police as long as the police do what we want. The minute they don’t–whether at Wall Street or Waco–they are jackbooted thugs. And not just jackbooted, but actually (ghasp!) ARMED. The horror, the horror.
Well, Hystericar barca, the police do work FOR US, so we should require that what they do is both legitimate and legal.
You don’t “get” anything. Certainly you don’t “get” the concept of proportional response.
It is wrong for police to respond the same way to violent and non-violent crimes. The normal way police deal with non-violent probation violators, so far as I know (I’ve never been on probation — if you have, please enlighten me), is to schedule an interview with the probie, during office hours. They don’t send what amounts to a SWAT team to handcuff the probie and drag him away from his house in the middle of the night.
The guy’s no ethical prize, but so what? Are you such a Neanderthal that you think, for example, that legally speaking, a prostitute can’t be raped? This man didn’t forfeit his Constitutional right to due process when he was convicted of his crime. He paid the fine he owes (or maybe he’s making payments on it, I don’t know — 800 grand is a lot of money).
Our justice system doesn’t allow even serial murderers, the scum of the earth, to be mistreated by prison officials. In fact, we go out of our way to protect, e.g., child rapists from angry retaliation by other prisoners. The terrorists in Guantanamo are gaining weight there, fed on gourmet halal meals. Those guys are violent. This man is not. So why is he being treated like a dangerous villain? It’s out of all proportion.
I sincerely hope and pray every week that I attend Mass that Obama gets a one-way ticket back to wherever. Just get him out of the WH and his hands off the wheel, so to speak. By all that is holy, this should happen, please God!!
I have always wanted liberals to give the Second Amendment the same respect they gave the First. I guess I got my wish!
