Ohio Lt. Governor and Insurance Director Mary Taylor told a group of small business owners on Wednesday that the state insurance office struggled to send information about Ohio’s health plans to Washington by computer this summer and they began bracing for problems, the AP reported. “This is what we expected,” she said of the “glitches” with the website for the federal exchanges. Ohio chose not to set up a state exchange, instead directing eligible citizens to the federal exchanges.

Taylor told Ohio members of the National Federation of Independent Business that while exploring the federal health exchange website she experienced the same problems that many consumers have reported. “I’ve been on,” Taylor said. “The note that comes up to be patient, high volume — experiencing high volume of users. You know, it is frustrating.”

Taylor’s office is suggesting that people try the new website during off hours. “Maybe if we all get up at midnight and try to get on the system — well, if we all do, it won’t work,” Taylor quipped to the business owners.

Taylor, a frequent critic of the Affordable Care Act, also said she doesn’t know how many Ohioans have enrolled in the federal exchanges because Washington is running them.

On October 4th, Taylor and Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine warned of scams associated with the new exchanges.

What I do not get is why anyone would try to use the site. It was known ahead of time that the security on the site is non-existent. Heck, the scammers do not even need their own site, I bet, except maybe they do, because the government site does not work at all.

Conservatives had been warning for months that the SW had big trouble, but the obamabots dismissed us as paranoids. The dems were determined to give this to us, with no delay, despite our warnings it was not ready. They were willing to shut down the gov to prevent us from offering a very reasonable compromise in the 2nd house compromise CR, to have a 1 yr delay to provide time to get the SW ready. Obama and Reid made this bed, and were willing to shutdown the gov to force us all to lie in it, and once it turned out to be full of bedbugs, they are fully answerable for it. Step one is to vote against any dem senator who supported Reid on the senate votes on the compromise 2nd house CR, so they pay a price for starting the shutdown, to force us to use this patently unready crap.

I think part of the problem is Obamacare should be a 'selling' site, but they have nothing to sell, since you are *required* to buy. Kind of like the DMV.

Amazon.com could not even be taken down by a DOS from Anonymous. Why? Because Amazon really does sell stuff, and they know that instead of waiting, you will go elsewhere to buy.

Even with 'three years in the making' the principals involved with Health Care really had no motivation to be concerned with 'customer satisfaction'. If bigger Government was efficient, then the Pentagon would be the most cost-effective organization on the planet. Actually, I think DOD does a credible job, but the $300 toilet seats and $400 hammers show there is lots of room for improvement.

but the administration in too many clips told us that they would be up and running with no problem on the date promised.

And these are the people that libs/dems/obozoids want to trust to handle their health care, because with the new law, there are plenty of new bureaucrats and enforcers, but don't see any new doctors.

The private sector always does things better than the gov. And in this case it appears that even the criminal fraudulent private sector is more competent than the Obama government.

Your point that it is so broken that even the hackers cannot use it is the only thing that is preventing things from becoming even worse. Wait till the site gets working enough that people can actually logon, and the hackers, fraudsters, and identity thieves get ahold of their totally inadequate security.
