Earth First Journal Assassination Hit List
The latest newsletter from the environmentalist group Earth First! Journal contains a curious topic — assassinations.
In fact, the newsletter conveniently provides the names, addresses and phone numbers of the assassination targets. Naturally, none of this is to be taken seriously, the environmentalists tell us. From the newsletter:
Let us say clearly, this is not a call to undertake assassinations of the elite scum who are pillaging the planet and enslaving the populace — but not because we think that is a bad idea. And it’s also not because we think killing CEOs and lobbyists is negative PR either. In fact, most everyone hates these creeps, and many would applaud their demise. Some would even be so enthusiastic as to make a bid on the assassin’s old underwear if given the chance in a government auction, as we found out last year, when the State sold off Ted’s personal belongings to further enrich the family of Unabomber victim Thomas J. Mosser, executive of corporate marketing giants Burson Marsteller.
We are not calling for the assassinations of CEOs and lobbyists primarily because those assholes are disposable and replaced with relative ease. Whereas eco-revolutionaries like us are still far and few between, and someone getting popped on that sort of charge it could pull them out of the game for a long time. So instead, until the police state and prison industrial complex is weakened, thus leveling the battlefield a bit more, we propose a campaign of “prank assassinations.”
And who are the suggested targets of the Earth First! Journal assassination campaign? Members of the productive class, of course, fill the “Hit List.” Aubrey McClendon, CEO of Chesapeake Energy, is listed because his company has developed more efficient methods of developing cheap natural gas.

Russ Girling, the CEO of TransCanada, is “pillaging” tar sands in Alberta and is putting up wind farms in Maine (endangering a couple of lynx). To round out the “Hit List,” Earth First! Journal names conservative blogger Brandon Darby.

The radical left loathes Darby because he is a heretic — a former leftist who helped the FBI break up a plot to bomb the 2008 Republican Convention in Minneapolis. That’s why loony publications like Mother Jones refer to him as a “snitch.”
Surely the FBI will find it difficult to track down the origins of these threats, right? Earth First is one of several shadowy fringe environmental groups that engage in the euphemism “direct action” but have no centralized structure. So finding the author of these threats is probably impossible, right?

Look, it is way past time to round up radical, revolutionary leftists polluting America. It is not as if they can qualify their designs through this or that subterfuge. In fact, they are doing precisely what Islamic jihadists do – they are painting a bulls eye on the back of those they are aiming to kill, even if inciting others to do the murderous deed!

The hit list is just one of the same totalitarian tactics. And in a so called democratic society there is NO room for such intimidation and incitement to murder, all their protestations aside. It might be interesting for one of the above-named “targets” to send a card to Earth First! with the following note:
“Thanks for putting me on your list. I consider it a compliment. You might be interested to know that I’ve made certain arrangements in case anything happens to me. Therefore, it’s in your best interest that I remain hale and hearty. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
Perhaps the FBI and local law enforcement should practice “prank arrests” and “prank trials” and “prank prison sentences” on the troglogressives of Earth First. Hey, it’s all just street theater, right?

We don’t do that because we know that is what they want and when their media running dogs tell the story it will be of 1,000 peaceful demonstrators execising their Constitutional right to free speech and assembly who were set upon by 10,000 angry, violent, rightwing thugs. The Left desperately wants their “Kent State Moment” so they can have a pretense for governmental action against the Right. My great fear is there will be some Tea Party or other conservative group event and the Left will astroturf a violent incident.
If one wants to do something about groups such as Earth First and a bazillion others, look at where they get their money and how they spend it. Odds are pretty good that most of their money is coming through state and federal treasuries in the form of grants and contracts. Florida has a Republican government; perhaps they should look at their budget and see which of their departments is funding this group and if their legislature has appropriated federal funds for this group. Federal funding rarely goes directly to the front groups but rather is granted to the state and then appropriated by the state’s legislature. Something seemingly innocuous like a federal grant or contract to study the rabid rats or some such gets applied for by the greenie sleeper cells inside state environmental quality/protection departments, the greenie sleeper cell in the USEPA awards the grant, the state legislature blithely just accepts and appropriates the money to their environmental department, and it gets awarded to front groups like Earth First. Earth First never actually studies the rabid rats and the greenies who’ve infiltrated the state’s environmental department are never going to audit what they did anyway, but you’ve got one more communist drawing a paycheck from those grant funds and walking around “guilty as Hell and free as a bird.” There really are strings attached to federal funding and states foolishly let “Studies” degrees meet the minimum qualification for all sorts of administrative jobs associated with distributing and monitoring federal funds. In the 30 of the 50 states Republicans control, we are quite literally feeding the hand that bites us. Most of the programmatic funds to state education, labor, and social services departments are nothing more than laundered funds going to Democrat front groups. Most of the money spent on training public employees is going to Democrat front groups who then launder much of it back to the Party. With a small team of investigators and forensic auditors I could put ANYBODY who receives and expends public funds in jail but the reality is that this stuff is rarely done at all and the front groups have very successfully infiltrated government at all levels to make sure nobody peeks under the front groups’ skirts.

I’m reminded of Latin America, currently the most violent region in the world, even with more repressive gun control: the left decided to go do the ultra violent “peoples revolutions” in the seventies and the State (eg., Argentina) and the right (the “death squads”) proceeded to violently “disappear” the dummies on the left. There was even a movie made about it, State of Siege. Come to think of it, Che didn’t do too well with getting those peasants into a revolutionary state of mind either, but none of the later dudes on the left, including SDS, seemed to learn that lesson. Oh, and as for giving out the addresses of gun owners with permits to carry in NY, that only means the criminals will know where not go to do their home invasion robberies.

I forget who first used the term (it wasn’t me), but “homicidal utopians” is an appropriate appellation for many “progressive” types, especially in the environmental movement.
It’s not just that they’d love to see their enemies “disappeared”, or that their dogmas demand that any dissent must be quashed. It’s also that their doctrines demand a much smaller human population, both to “Save Holy Mother Gaia” and because some of them are almost smart enough to dimly grasp the fact that their dreamed-of neo-primitivist, agrarian-socialist feudality will be unable to support more than about 40 million people worldwide- period. (Advances in technology and agriculture made a liar of Thomas Malthus; their grand vision of the future will resurrect his theories with a vengeance.)
And it’s most of all the fact that they simply get a thrill out of the idea of being able to kill anybody they want to, for “environmental” reasons, “social justice” reasons, or indeed no reason at all other than their own entertainment.
This is why the infamous “10:10/No Pressure” AGW ad went through all the checkpoints in the system, and then to air, without anyone even suggesting that it might result in a backlash. Simply put, everyone involved liked the idea of being able to kill anyone they regarded as an “environmental traitor”, in a way that terrorized others into obedience. Even their own; look what happened to Gillian Anderson when she was caught smoking a cigarette at the end. (You’d think that after working on The X-Files for nine years, she’d have a better-tuned sense of BS.)

If I were in charge of DOJ I would feed clowns like this false addresses and other info on their “targets”, then set up a sting to nab anybody who showed up to carry out the deed. Maybe even publish fake radical pamphlets calling for “direct action” against sites that are just long-term police traps. Think of it like a roach motel; they check in, but don’t check out for 25 years or so. I also always thought it would be a brilliant idea to hack the websites of the jihadi/radical left/other terrorists and alter the bomb making instructions contained therein in just the right way to cause it to go off on the terrorist making it, sort of like what happened to all Ayers buddies.
FWIW the FBI rounded up a bunch of wannabe anarchists at some of the occupy protests by supplying them with fake dynamite and letting them plant it, then arresting everyone after they pushed the button they thought would set it off. The groups publishing the stuff in the article seem like prime candidates for the same sort of sting.
If any of the words I’ve used trip any filters and call this post to the attention of any watching law enforcement, I encourage you to take the advice above. The operation in Clevland catching the terrorists trying to blow up the bride was brilliant and probably saved lives. Baiting a trap for groups like the one publishing this “hit list” will probably save lives too. A lot more Terrorists have been stopped by infiltration and stings than airport security, best defense is a good offense.
Unfortunately, Earth First and the USDOJ are on the same side. If there is to be a sting out of this it will be run by federal law enforcement to entrap anybody who tries to do anything to Earth First as the result of the threats. There really is a war going on.

The professor has an interesting point, however it does not go far enough. Socialism in the prior century caused the deaths of 100,000,000 people by some estimates due to war, state sponsered murder, and famine. By his logic anyone who advocates socialism should face the death penalty. Famines that could be prevented cost millions of deaths, therefore anyone who opposes GM foods should face the death penalty. Those researchers who published fraudulent data on global warming damage the threat’s creditability and therefore should face the death penalty. And if we are talking about the elimination of future human beingsanyone who supports reproductive rights should definately face the death penalty.
According to his opinion anthropomorpic global warming must be prevented at all costs so therefore any person or group who opposes hydroelectric plants due to the endangered species act should face the death penalty.
Finally, the leaders of th PRC, India, Brazil, and the Russian Republic should face the death penalty for thier nations’ carbon production. Those worthies anre much more likely to arrange the professor’s demise than peacefully accept their own.
Before advocating such an unprecidented power given to an unelected international body the professor would do well to consider how it could be used against his pet programs or even himself.
One part of me isn’t all that worried about such talk. I knew people like this in college, and that’s what they are–talk. They hide behind the 1st Amendment, but if push came to shove, they’d be the ones screaming for mercy. A civil war with the so-called “progressives” in this country would be a short one–they don’t have guns, and they hate the military and the police. So they don’t have weapons, and they demonize the very people who would be necessary to carry out a revolution. Somewhere in hell, Mao is having a good laugh.
