Anniversaries Celebrated

“Flash congrats! 15 years ago today, Drudge broke Clinton-Lewinsky scandal,” Twitchy notes. For much more on the world that Matt helped to usher in, check out James Panero on “The Culture of the Copy” in the New Criterion, and my own “Atlas Mugged” article from a few years ago.

But it’s all for naught, as Barack Obama has destroyed Planet Earth. Note the date of this article:

“President ‘has four years to save Earth’ — US must take the lead to avert eco-disaster,” The Guardian reported on January 17th, 2009:

Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama’s first administration, he added.

Well, in one sense, the president certainly gave it his all. But curiously, Hansen’s deadline hadn’t even passed yet, before Al Gore declared environmentalism’s Mission Accomplished.
