Moving late against a formidable frontrunner, just months after losing a child to cancer?

No.

I’ve said for a while now it was a longshot, despite some moments where it seemed politically necessary for him to jump in. But it would have been a sad thing to watch the Clinton Machine chew him up, especially after watching the rest of the Dem field cave on Emailgate in last week’s debate. For Biden, it would have been a lonely fight, and probably a losing one.

This was the right call.

OK then — who’s ready to help take down Hillary after the coronation next summer?

UPDATE: Good lord, but this has become an odd and embarrassing announcement. Biden just isn’t up for even this much.
