"You just pick the losers."

The bottom of the money pit is always green:

President Obama touted it in 2010 as evidence “manufacturing jobs are coming back to the United States,” but two years later, a Michigan hybrid battery plant built with $150 million in taxpayer funds is putting workers on furlough before a single battery has been produced.

I have a question every time Empty Chair touts how he created a battery industry from scratch, which produces something like 40% of all the high-tech batteries in the world. And my question, with all due emphasis, is this:

WHAT THE HELL ARE WE GOING TO STICK THOSE BATTERIES INTO???

Electric cars nobody wants to buy? It’s no wonder the plant is laying people off. We’re paying companies to make batteries to stick into cars we can’t bribe people into buying.

That’s Obamanomics in a nutshell, and that’s the reason we’ve spent the last four years in the crapper.
