Thank You for Your Cooperation

Remember, the Iraq War had absolutely nothing to do with Syria’s apparent change of heart in Lebanon. Of course, that can be tough to keep in mind when Syrian dictator Bashar Assad is saying things like:

“Please send this message: I am not Saddam Hussein. I want to cooperate.”

Actually, Assad probably wants to cooperate with us only as much as he thinks is necessary to save his hide – and not one tiny bit more. But even by chickenhawk standards like mine, that has to count as progress.

I wonder how cooperative Baby Assad would feel, given a seat at the peace conference table promised us by John Kerry?
