We’re still talking about this?
Democratic White House challenger John Kerry, who has made no official trips abroad recently, on Sunday stood by his controversial statement that he had met foreign leaders who wanted him to beat President Bush.
“What I said is true,” Kerry said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” program. “I mean, you can go to New York City and you can be in a restaurant and you can meet a foreign leader. There are plenty of places to meet people without traveling abroad.”
That’s just so March ’04. Besides, Kerry is right — although I don’t know if web-shopping for Thai mail-order brides counts as meeting people “without traveling abroad.”
