Facile Analogy of the Week Award goes to Pete Bevin, for leaving the following comment to yesterday’s post:
We can’t go on letting barbarians kill our people.
Americans killed by Arab terrorists in 2001: 3,036.
Americans killed by Americans in 2001: about 15,000.
We have police, courts, defenders, prosecutors, and jails to deal with domestic barbarians, Pete. For foreigners we have the State Department, and when that doesn’t work, we have to rely on the United States Armed Forces.
3,036 dead is pretty good proof that the State Department method isn’t working. What’s that leave us?
