A Case Where the Bigger Man Will Lose

Janet Reno is out-polling her nearest Democratic rival, Bill McBride, for the Florida gubernatorial nomination by more than 2-1.

However, she trails Jeb Bush in the governor’s race by about 15 points — with her negatives running almost 50%.

Reno has the highest unfavorable rating of all the candidates, with 48 percent of those polled saying they had a mostly unfavorable or very unfavorable opinion of her.

The governor’s support slips below 50 percent when he is paired against McBride, who remains unknown to nearly half the voters polled. Bush has a healthy lead over McBride — 49 percent to 31 percent — but 20 percent could not yet pick a favorite.

Let’s just hope her little poll numbers don’t threaten Reno’s masculinity.
