Our story begins in the velvet-draped inner sanctum of an imaginary psychiatrist's office where a troubled fan of Gavin Newsom has come in from the California sunshine to seek solace.
Please sit on the fainting couch over there, my leftist friend. There, there.
I think you'd better lie down. Deep breaths.
Now, from what I gather—would you like a cry-angle?—I understand that you feel our 2028 presidential poster boy has stepped over the line; left your relationship, and left you feeling abandoned. Is that right?
I believe I hear you saying that he has somehow turned his back on you alone.
Why, yes, that is a coloring book over there. Feel free to grab the crayons. Feel your emotions. Draw your angst.
So we think, do we, that your Gavin has stepped out with an other one? That the other one is someone with whom you share no values, has no shared lived experiences, and whom you've never seen at a DOGE protest -- is that right?
He has made you feel uncomfortable?
I see the problem. Your truth may no longer be a shared truth with him?
This is a pitiable state of affairs, I agree.
Tell me, what do you feel triggered your reaction?
Since we don't have the money to pay for all the billable hours to solve that head case's problems, let's just cut to the chase. This could be the scene in any imaginary psychiatrist's office or Zoom therapy meeting in any blue city in America after California Governor Gavin Newsom released his podcast this week.
The fact is, the dead-enders of the Democrat party are melting down over Newsom going to the dark side to civilly discuss the issues of the day with HITLER. And it turns out, Gavin will talk to the people considered fascists because his party has run out of ideas and he's grasping anywhere for street cred.
Even that fascist Mussolini kept the trains running on time, but Newsom has laid not one foot of track for his party's high speed train for the billions spent on the imaginary choo choo. He needs a reset, stat. Not a reset of the state, silly. A reset of his public perception. Hence, he's pivoted to his new podcast as I reported in the "West Coast, Messed Coast™ When California Needed Help, Gavin Newsom Gave Them a Podcast."
Newsom's got plenty of time to hold a salon. Obviously, he's already driven his clown car state into the ditch and is leaving it for the next sucker to call the tow truck after he leaves in 2026. Newsom's pitch is that he wants to bring his political acumen to the entire nation before anyone west of the Mississippi remembers his actual record.
According to the Guardian, leftists "torched 'trash'" Newsom because he invited Turning Point USA's Charlie Kirk on his inaugural episode.
“‘The first guest on Gavin Newsom's podcast was Charlie Kirk’ is more than enough for me to say ‘absolutely not’ to any suggestion Newsom play any role in the future of the Democratic Party,” attorney Max Kennerly wrote on Bluesky. “People like him are the past, the failures, the ones who got us here.”
“Sometimes you see something that makes you realize that another person's mind is just always going to be a locked door to you, a total mystery,” games journalist Ian Boudreau stated. “Impenetrable. For me that was Gavin Newsom making his debut podcast episode a talk with Charlie Kirk.”
“Who do Democrats think is the audience for ‘Gavin Newsom in a podcast with Charlie Kirk,’” former Washington Post reporter Christopher Ingraham wondered, while podcast host Andy Levy flatly said it was “utterly contemptible” how Newsom readily embraced Kirk’s viewpoints.
I should check my Bluesky account. I haven't been there since I set it up.
Unhinged as these folks were, things got worse over at a subreddit centered on an article entitled, "CA Gov Gavin Newsom 'Completely Aligns' With Charlie Kirk On Trans Issues In Podcast" (no, he really didn't), where the top comment was, "BARF. Everything he does screams 'I’ll be running for President,' and he is pandering to another side for future votes when he will neither get their support no matter how hard he tries, but will never get my vote either." This person must be new to Gavin if they're just connecting those dots on Newsom's pandering. Boy, nothing gets past this bunch.
Another sad sack wrote, "Okay, I'll admit to being surprised by this...He's put in so much work on this tough-guy image, too. I thought that was working for him. Why would he feel the need to reach across the aisle and jerk off Charlie Kirk? What an idiotic move to make, let alone morally despicable. I know everybody is doing it. It just seems particularly stupid for him."
Please stop and say a prayer for the author of the above who thought the effete Newsom's "tough guy image...was working for him."
Leather chaps-wearing State Senator Scott Wiener, from San Francisco, was quite upset about any Democrat sitting within spitting distance of a Republican HITLER!
“Charlie Kirk is a vile bigot, and standing with him on this issue is profoundly disturbing,” the San Francisco lawmaker said in a statement Thursday. He acknowledged Newsom’s work as an LGBTQ advocate, a stance he said required “courage” from the governor.
“This is not one of those moments,” Wiener said.
I'm glad Charlie doesn't live in California. Can you imagine getting fairness and justice in a state where one of the top Democrats has this opinion about him?
The fact is, lefties, there's nothing to worry about. Gavin Newsom is using Republicans to gain an audience to get press for his presidential run. Newsom will revert to his usual Scott Wiener-form after he's elected to his next office. He'll be the left-wing autocrat you've always known and loved right after the election.
