You can't ask for a better treatment of the beyond scandalous story of the attempted bribery of Kari Lake than KDJ's story nearby. And now, after reading his story, we know the what and why of the story. But now the question is, who was willing to write the bribery check to get her out of the Arizona Senate race? Who are those "very powerful people who want to keep you out?"
Arizona is the land of dirty politics. This is the place where the Mob used to have free reign and is believed to have murdered a reporter years back. We saw election malfeasance in the 2020 election in Arizona, cases from which are still in court.
At the time of this recording, which is at least one year old, Lake, who "lost" the governor's race, was recorded considering a run for the U.S. Senate seat occupied by Kyrsten Sinema. Lake, a longtime news anchor and current Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate knows how Arizona's dirty politics work all too well.
The audio recording sounds as if she made it. It's legal. Arizona is a one-party consent state, which means only one person involved in the recording needs to know.
As KDJ reports nearby, we hear in the tape that Lake goes to a worst-case scenario. "They're going to try to have me murdered." The man believed to be Arizona's GOP Chair, Jeff DeWit, reminds her that he hears the "cartels are operating in 50 states right now."

The roughly six-minute-long excerpt from a ten-minute-long original recording includes edits that appear to pick up the conversation in different parts.

Arizona radio talk host Garret Lewis claimed to have two witnesses who verified the other speaker as Jeff DeWit. The radio host had been investigating this recording for at least a year by his reckoning.
The promise in the audio tape was to provide Lake a soft landing job, "a talking head" job promised by someone on the East Coast who had millions to keep her out of the Senate race.
Lake immediately believed that this was an attempt to subvert Trump. Both share an "America First" political worldview.
To some, this looked like the deal that Democrats and Hillary struck with Bernie Sanders in 2016 when he somehow acquired another house — his third. Not bad for a commie senator.
The man believed to be DeWit said on the audio, "So the ask I got today from back East was: 'Is there any companies [sic] out there or something that could just put her on the payroll to keep her out?'"
Let's connect a few dots. First, this was an exclusive story in The UK Daily Mail. The Daily Mail is often a more reliable news gatherer than the mainstream press. But don't forget that Meghan McCain, former Arizona Sen. John McCain's daughter, now writes a column for the Mail and may have been a conduit through which the political reporter for the Daily Mail got the tip. McCain's widow, a millionaire, still calls Arizona home for at least part of the year.
And who is the person offering the millions? While suspicions went directly to Trump and Kari Lake haters like the McCain family, there were other suspects.

Who else would write those checks to give her a "talking head" job? Are we talking about the same people, Democrats bankrolling Nikki Haley's presidential bid, Arabella Advisors, and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman? We don't know. Could it be the Murdoch family of Fox News and other media properties that under new management turned on a dime against Trump World, capitulating to the Democrat lawyers in a huge defamation lawsuit, the result of which appears to have been the ouster of Tucker Carlson?
Is it from Biden World? They have a lot of friends willing to give them "loans" to get things done. They have the entire government willing to use unlimited federal tax dollars to spy on opponents, use information operations using the FBI, CIA, DHS, and other alphabet agencies to do their political bidding? Are they the same people who fronted the money for phony lawsuits against Trump to keep him in court during a presidential year? Surely, you don't think these are coincidences, do you?
Cui bono? Who benefits from releasing this recording now?
Obviously, Kari Lake, who sounds like Super Woman defending the American Way on the tapes, comes off as a winner. She sounds like an anti-corruption whistleblower.
The Democrats have been rolling out recordings of Lake's speeches and interviews which they believe show the candidate in a bad light. They call these The Lake Tapes. Now Lake has her own gritty tape blasting corruption, standing for Arizona voters, and even outing the corrupt leadership of her own party.
Said Lake, "I’m running and I’m going to be the biggest pain in their f***ing a**es…. They’re going to have to f***ing kill me to stop me.”
As the February registration deadlines for upcoming elections grow closer, this might redound to her benefit.
It should.
