Following the terrorist attack in Barcelona last week, the College Republicans at San Diego State called for a campus Muslim group to condemn the attack in Spain.

For doing so, they got called a “hate group.” From The College Fix:

The letter, signed by SDSU College Republicans Chairman Bandon Jones, stated in part that “until radical Islamic terrorism is disavowed by the Muslim Student Organization at SDSU, we cannot move forward in creating an inclusive environment for all students on campus.” It added the Muslim Student Association’s leadership should resign if they do not disavow Islamic terrorism.

The letter caused an uproar.

The Transfronterizo Alliance Student Organization, which describes itself as working to create an “inclusive campus environment for SDSU students who live a transborder lifestyle,” joined the chorus.

Its statement condemned the College Republicans for “perpetuating an Islamophobic, hostile campus climate for our Muslim student community on campus.”

“We demand a safe and inclusive campus environment for all San Diego State University students and will not tolerate further racist, xenophobic and Islamophobic letters by the San Diego State College Republicans toward any other student group or campus community,” the group said on Facebook.

Transfronterizo’s statement calls for Jones’ removal as head of the College Republicans, calling his leadership “extremist.”

Extremist? Why? Because he wanted an Islamic group to denounce terrorist violence?

Racist? For the millionth time, Islam is not a race.

It’s amusing that Jones’ letter stirred this kind of reaction after every right-leaning person has had to disavow racism following Charlottesville — and woe be unto you if you also denounce Antifa. Why do I need to disavow the racists who have nothing to do with conservatism, if Muslims can’t be asked to do the same for people who do share the same ideology?

Unsurprisingly, Jones has been told to commit suicide, along with other commentary typically associated with the intolerant Left.

Will San Diego State University stand by Jones and his group? It sounds like we’ll find out, since he’s allegedly been reported to the campus “diversity office” and the dean.
