CNN's Jim Acosta Calls Trump Poland Event a 'Fake News Conference'

Early Thursday morning, CNN reporter Jim Acosta attacked President Donald Trump’s press conference in Poland as a “fake news conference,” because he took the first question from a friendly reporter, Washington, D.C.-based David Martosko with Britain’s Daily Mail.

“Unfortunately this was not a surprise at all, that the president would take the first question from an American reporter during his foreign trip here and that it would be from the friendly news media, a friendly reporter, who teed up a question about CNN,” Acosta said on CNN’s “New Day” Thursday morning. Then came the nugget.

“For the president to then go off on CNN as ‘fake news’ to me just made this entire spectacle seem like a fake news conference.”

So the political leaning of a reporter invalidates an entire press conference as “fake news”? Acosta continued, “This was not an attempt by the president to seek out a question from somebody who was going to challenge him on the issues.” Does that make every single press conference from President Barack Obama “fake news,” since he called on reporters who liked him?

Acosta insisted that he has a positive view of Martosko. “I think he’s a really good guy,” the CNN reporter said. “But in this instance, I do think the conservative media was being used here.”

So questioning CNN’s bias against President Trump somehow constitutes “being used” by Trump? When liberals attacked Fox News during Obama’s presidency, where they just “being used” by Obama?
