Happy Monday Morning!

Here is what’s on the President’s agenda today:

  • In the morning, President Donald J. Trump will give remarks at the 36th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service.
  • In the afternoon, the President will welcome Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi.
  • Later in the afternoon, the President will have a working luncheon with the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Clapper Goes on Sunday Show Media Tour

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who definitely does not leak information to the media, appeared on some Sunday shows to sow doubt, discord, and dissension in the country.

“Their first objective was to sow doubt, discord, and dissension in this country. And the Russians have to be celebrating with a minimal expenditure of resources in what they have accomplished,” he told ABC’s “This Week.”

“The lead of the investigation about potential collusion and Russia and the Trump campaign has been removed. So the Russians have to consider this as another victory on the scoreboard for them.”

Was Jim Comey personally conducting the investigation into Russian influence on the election? No. Even Acting FBI Director McCabe testified before the Senate that the removal of Comey would not affect the investigation. It’s almost as if Clapper has an agenda with this remarks.

And then Clapper shared his concerns about the Constitution coming under assault.

“In many ways, our institutions are under assault, both externally — and that’s the big news here, is the Russian interference in our election system. And I think as well our institutions are under assault internally,” Clapper said on CNN.

“Internally from the president?” Clapper-friendly CNN anchor Jake Tapper followed up.

“Exactly,” Clapper replied. “The Founding Fathers, in their genius, created a system of three co-equal branches of government and a built-in system of checks and balances. And I feel as though that’s under assault and is eroding.”

It’s astonishing that the separation of powers is suddenly of interest. Where has Clapper been for the last eight years? Maybe he just didn’t care because he is a partisan hack who was fine with using government force and authority to get what he wanted and agreed with politically.

Clapper also walked back his recent testimony that he was unaware of any collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians. This is not unusual for Clapper, who stands accused of lying to Congress about the NSA spying on American citizens.

Stephanopoulos asked Clapper, “You did say back in your original testimony [to Congress] that you hadn’t seen evidence of collusion. Tell us exactly what you think right now.”

Clapper said Sunday, “At the time we did our intelligence community assessment [of Russian interference in the election], which we published publicly on the 6th of January, there was no evidence of any collusion included in that report.”

But he said the FBI, which is conducting the Russia probe as a counterterrorism investigation, would not necessarily have told the Director of National Intelligence if it found evidence of such collusion.

“I had no evidence available to me that there was collusion, but that’s not necessarily exculpatory since I did not know the state of the investigation or the content — what had been turned up with it,” Clapper said.

So the DNI would not know about the progress and developments of the FBI’s investigation? And when will we be getting leaks about the evidence against Trump in this Russia investigation? If there’s an investigation and the FBI is collecting information and evidence, why hasn’t that leaked like all the other information that has leaked? Information like Mike Flynn’s name? If you don’t think this is a politically motivated witch hunt, you should now.

Shake, shake, shake your staff up

A report has surfaced that President Trump will fire a bunch of high-level advisors.

President Donald Trump, who has reportedly been isolated and frustrated by the negative coverage engulfing his administration in recent days, may be considering a major reorganization of his White House staff, according to an Axios report from Mike Allen on Sunday.

Writes Mike Allen at Axios:

If Trump follows through, his innermost White House circle would shrink from a loop to a straight line of mid-30s family members with scant governing experience: Jared and Ivanka. So while the fighting and leaking might ease, the problems may not because it’s the president, not the staff, calling the shots.

One note of caution: Trump often talks about firing people when things go south and does not follow through on it. So it’s possible these conversations are his way of venting, and seeking reassurance.

We’ve heard this before so take it with a grain of salt.

With all these leaks coming out of the White House, which we never had during the Obama administration, it’s no wonder that Trump decided to withhold his decision to fire Comey from his staff.

After four months in office, President Donald Trump has become distrustful of some of his White House staff, heavily reliant on a handful of family members and longtime aides, and furious that the White House’s attempts to quell the firestorm over the FBI and congressional Russia investigations only seem to add more fuel.

Trump’s frustrations came to a head this week with the firing of FBI Director James Comey, who was overseeing the probe into his campaign’s possible ties to Russia’s election meddling. Fearful that his own team would leak the decision, Trump kept key staff in the dark as he pondered the dramatic move.

According to the AP, the communications staff had an hour to mobilize. This is insane; you can’t run a government like this.

Here’s some advice to the president: You need to fire every single Obama appointee that is still working in your administration. I know you have been told this was done, but it has not been done.

You are in a political war against the political left. They have infected your administration and the left doesn’t want to make “deals” with you. If you called every elected Democrat to the White House and asked them “I will do whatever you want: open the borders, single-payer healthcare, make more laws to ‘save the environment,’ declare Israel a terrorist nation, repeal the First and Second Amendment,” they would respond with nothing. They want you to have no victories, even if it is at the expense of their political platform and wishlist. This is a war for them; it’s time you realize you are on the other side of that war and act accordingly.  That means you must put your people in—put the people in that share your policy vision and move them forward with no regard for the opposition. That’s what we had for the last eight years and that’s what the voters who supported you want to see.

And by the way, just because some of your staff and advisors are in your political party doesn’t mean they aren’t playing along with the left’s political war. They are.

Auntie Maxine gets a dose of karma

Can you name any important legislation introduced and sponsored by Congresswoman Maxine Waters? How about ANY legislation? That’s what I thought.

After regularly appearing in the media trash talking the president and trying to whip the electorate into a frenzy, Waters became the target at her town hall this weekend in Inglewood, California. Via The Blaze:

The signs appeared outside a town hall in the Inglewood neighborhood, according to KCBS-TV, which described the signs as “unflattering and racist.”

Some of the signs mocked Waters while others stated facts about the political positions she holds.

One sign read in big letters, “IMPEACH MAXINE WATERS,” while noting that she’s a “race baiter,” “old & out of touch” and a “poverty pimp.”

Some protestors were escorted out of the event by police, because the police in Democrat districts are quick to remove opposition, unlike say, Berkeley.

Miss D.C. wins Miss USA Crown and she will be destroyed

A lovely 25-year-old nuclear scientist for the government won the Miss USA crown last night. And there was some controversy.

Kara McCullough caused a firestorm on social media after she gave conservative answers to questions — saying she wasn’t a feminist and that she thought people need to have a job to have health care.

“I’m definitely going to say it’s a privilege,” McCullough said, when asked if access to medical care was a right, as liberals such as Sen. Bernie Sanders say, or a privilege, as many conservatives say.

She then added: “As a government employee, I’m granted health care and I see firsthand that for one to have health care, you need to have jobs.”

To add insult to injury, McCollough also denounced feminism. “I don’t want to call myself a feminist,” McCullough said. “Women, we are just as equal as men, especially in the workplace.”

Of course, she was denounced on social media but one brave soul got it.

“I’m extremely thankful for this opportunity,” she said after the event, which was held in Las Vegas.

“I just want to encourage so many women nationwide to find their passion in any subject possible and understand that nothing is difficult if you really, truly put the work in for it.”

Good for you, Miss USA.
