Um…ok.

Commissioner Ross says the suspect has given a full confession, saying he did it in the name of Islam.

“According to him, police bend laws that are contrary to the teachings of the Quran.”

After this tidbit was released, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney took to Twitter:

I am more than willing to concede that a guy named Edward Archer may not be an ISIS operative and just a homicidal loon looking for an excuse. However, I do believe that the world is in a place where we can default to knowing nods when someone claims Islam was a motivation for violence. Public officials should default to a genuine wait and see position, rather than the de rigueur “Let’s wait and see but hey it’s definitely not Islam” nonsense.

If this criminal really is lying, then he would definitely be an outlier. Which, of course, means the left will portray him as the norm (see: Timothy McVeigh).
