Here We Come! Twenty New Year’s Resolutions for Every Conservative

With all the talk of New Year’s resolutions, I got to thinking about a possible set that doesn’t involve losing weight or quitting anything. Then it hit me. What about a set of New Year’s resolutions for conservatives?

The list would not involve exercise, cutting calories, stopping smoking, stopping drinking, selling that gas-guzzling truck or SUV, or even cutting down on cussing, even though that’s probably a good idea.

What’s the point? Well, imagine if most conservatives decided in 2026 to get behind their conservatism by doing something, or doing just a bit more, to make the world that much more conservative. Imagine if you and more people like you actually got more involved in your town so that the left doesn’t control everything. Imagine going through your day and not concealing your conservatism as much as you may have been doing. You never know. Your patriotism could rub off on someone else.

With that in mind, here are 20 Conservative New Year’s resolutions for your consideration in no particular order. Don't think you have to do all of these. Maybe just one. And I can’t say these are all my resolutions for this coming year, but I will do a good number of these, and so I thought I'd share them here for your own inspiration. Just finish the sentence...

“In 2026 I will…”

  1. Get involved in a community of likeminded conservatives.
  2. Do something in my local community to support conservatism among youth.
  1. Pray more often: in the car, when I’m doing chores, whenever.
  2. Support pro-life causes.
  3. Go to at least one council or school board meeting in my community.
  1. Put a campaign sign in my yard.
  2. Have more than two kids, if possible (if you're at that stage of life and considering stopping at two), and raise them as conservatives.
  3. Not refer to anyone using their preferred pronouns.
  4. Not get into the middle of any internal civil wars on the conservative side.
  5. Actively help my local conservative candidates get elected to Congress, the Senate, or any other office.
  6. Not accept the premise of any leftist who wants to debate me.
  7. Volunteer at the polls as an observer or staffer.
  8. Not believe any Republican politician who says he or she will do something until I see them actually doing it.
  9. Not pay attention to legacy media polling on the midterms.
  1. Take an active role in what information I’m consuming by subscribing to the top conservative media, while ignoring the legacy media.
  2. Not let my affinity for any foreign nation or group supersede my interest in making America great again. America first before all else.
  3. Avoid being an absolutist on the issues I care about most if being an absolutist gives the Democrats a chance to beat Republicans.
  4. Vote in the primary and the general election.
  5. Not let my kids watch woke programming on TV, on the internet, or in theaters.
  6. Celebrate the America 250 event in a big way.

Are there any you’d like to add? Let us know in the comments. Meanwhile, have a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous New Year! Get ready, 2026. Here we come!
