U.S. Border Patrol Agent Charged with Smuggling Illegal Aliens into Texas

But…the border is secure. Don’t worry. There is no cause for alarm, despite this ValleyCentral report.

According to United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson, Agent Roberto Cantu Rodriguez was charged in a two-count indictment for harboring and assisting immigrants.

The 35-year-old agent was in Laredo federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Guillermo Garcia Wednesday.

The Laredo area Border Patrol agent is charged with smuggling undocumented immigrants around the time of June 2013 to June 2014.

Rodriguez is also charged with misprision since he allegedly knew the immigrants were illegally in the U.S.

So if the charges are correct, we had a coyote working in the Border Patrol.

He faces 10 years in prison if convicted. The obvious question to be asked next is, was he the only one?
