Fox 8 Cleveland reports on the hilarious story of Shane Smith. The Fort Collins, CO man says he called up the Colorado healthcare exchange to sign up for coverage because, despite President Obama’s promise that he could keep his healthcare, he lost his healthcare.
He goes through the process of signing up, and that process included creating a set of security questions and answers. He used his Yorkie, Baxter, in one of those questions.
When the letter notifying him of his new coverage arrived, it was not addressed to him. It was address to Baxter.
“It was pretty funny. Typical Obamacare, that they would insure your dog by mistake,” Smith said.
Fortunately, he was able to get the mistake fixed quickly. But the coverage of his previous plan isn’t forgotten.
“There’s been a lot of headaches that’s come from all of this. All the phone calls. All the nonsense. They ended up giving me good coverage I think, but who knows if they’re going to take it away,” Smith said. “As long as Baxter’s covered that’s all the counts.”
“Who knows if they’re going to take it away…?” Indeed.
