Legislator Concealed Carry: double standard

Two of the Texas state senators who voted to give legislators and government employees special concealed carry privileges are Mario Gallegos (D-6) and Eddie Lucio (D-27). Both voted “yea” yesterday on Senate Bill 905.

Yesterday also saw the vote on Senate Bill 1581, which Senator Jeff Wentworth (R-25) successfully amended to include his Campus Carry legislation, allowing duly licensed adults to carry concealed handguns on state secondary educational facilities.

While voting to give themselves special privileges so they could carry into bars and college sporting events, Gallegos and Lucio voted “Nay” when it came to your right to defend yourself on college campuses.

Perhaps you should call them and ask about this double standard.
