I have to say, I get pretty skeptical of art for politics’ sake. It can get a whiff of the “art of the state” about it. But this tune by Glen Shulfer — I like it. There’s a bit of grit, a bit of Neil Young (the one that supported Reagan), and a nice guitar hook carrying this one.
As for the man behind it:
I am a Milwaukee area musician, former teacher and Conservative. I was inspired to write this song after watching the greed, sense of entitlement and thuggery exhibited during the Madison protests. It is applicable to the entire union reform issue.
